maybe if they let it race in the class it SHOULD be raced in, the 250 class

then it would make sense to homologate it

Equal rights for equal cc ! It's only fair, it shouldn't be about politics.

Homologate....extortion....all the same. Keeps the little guy out of the equation and off the gate.

What I can't understand is how the AMA can say a certain bike is "legal" for 1 type of race but not another. If the AMA sanctions xc racing and mx racing, then a bike like the 250sx which is ok for the gncc or worcs should also be ok for mx. Just my opinion.

Part of me dig the equal displacement thing, but I still remember the previous 250 class with peaky 55+ HP used to be the premier class, I figured there was a though in that, and I just don't see any present evolution as in skills and muscle mass has taken a step forward to make them some kind of entry level race bike? Also, if those classes should represent the market, who would let their 14 year old kid go from a 85, to a ported SXS250 which now should be part/represent the stepping stone? Some of these mofos have have close to 60 hp? It's like mounting slick tires on rocketship.

Would be so cool to see Rozcen on a factory smoker dicing a GEICO 250F, but other than that? Is this even realistic?

Smokers belong in their own group, they are a different breed, needs their place, but not in any present premier class.

I love smokers, I'm a newborn rider on my 125, will ditch my 250F ASAP, but c'mon, be realistic people.

Also, I don't see the 150 smokers belong in the 250F class either, they can easily match HP, even surpass, but we know when those 40 ponies comes to life between 9000-11000 rpm, that 250F with it's pulsatile traction, and broader powerband passed on the inside.

We just have to deal with this new brave world, where normal people might focus on the fun, and go smoker, while the racers have found a much superior weapon in the valve breed. Those two doesn't blend.

I'm for creating a strong tiddler class, that seems to be blooming in Europe, and fans can use as a motivation, inspiration to buy a new 125 bike.

A merge is not going to happen.
