Big Stewart fan here, but must admit this is probably the most accurate statement in this thread. That dry hard pack Sam Boyd dirt just doesn't get along with James wide open style.
i'm also a big fan. just being realistic. this race doesn't mean a whole lot to me or much of anyone else beside a chance to promote and win money. fun event.

i met big and little james way back in the day when he was on a p50. i did some work with performance engineering and they came into the shop. very nice peeps.

I predicted this weeks ago. I thought he would wait till later in the week to keep everyone wondering.

Just another instance where he is not doing everything required to get back to being a title favorite. The other top guys race every opportunity to improve. He can do laps @ home all day long, racing is the best way to get better.
Great prediction. This must have been bugging you for quite some time. Laughing

Your memory is pretty foggy, he is not the only rider to do it.

Sometimes they have way better reasons than you could ever imagine.

Villopoto opting out of any rounds at the Aussie SX series last year (and got chastised by Reed for not going, even though Reed didn't go himslef). Pinch

Reed opting out of the aforementioned Aussie SX series last year and opting out of the Monster Energy Cup last year, but quick with a tweet to diminish Villopoto's actual earnings from said Monster Energy Cup. Good thing Reed got the "likes" needed to have him come to the Aussie series this year. Wink

Is Lil Hanny going to show at the Aussie SX series? I thought he loved the place.

If you really want to get technical, Reed and Villopoto could have raced some of the late season 2012 Outdoor rounds, and/or the MXoN for that matter.

They will all show up when and where they want, no matter what you think they should or shouldn't do.

Maybe you need to take a chill pill and discuss with us. Nobody said that they were faster/better/smarter than James. We are discussing, like adults, the FACTS about the past few years of James' results.

You on the other hand can only call names and insult others. I respect you for being around like, forever, but you certainly are not adding anything to this discussion.

Racers.....race. James...well...

That being said, I will be the first to cheer him on, when, and if, he gets back on track. But I will stick to my belief that he is effectively done in pro racing as far as long term series and titles goes. I don't think he will finish the SX season. It's sad but he has proven himself to NOT be the guy that can stay healthy long term anymore. Ego?...maybe too much. Fear of injury?...probably a bit, it's natural.

When he was far faster than 99.9% of his competition (see GOAT mentioned here) he won titles. When everyone figured out how to run with him enough to put pressure on...the ego thing gets in his way, plus the opinion of people far more intelligent and knowledgeable than me that his bike setup skills suck....

I've got my flame suit on, but if anyone wants to maturely discuss, I am game. I will not engage in flame wars though, it's counterproductive and stupid.
X2 But I'll get the fire hose and stand by!!! Laughing

This lol.

Honestly besides what everybody say's... people seem to turn everything james related into a negative, because they don't get to see him race.

I'm sick of the fuggin fan's complaining.

Live and Let Live... Until one of you sour grape bungholes in here can line up to race the mec or any other race at a pro level you have no say, on who should be doing what or why.

End Rant!

James should just skip A1 to piss off all the so called fans.. and show up at phx for his first round lol

To bad, one knows shit how much testing is necessary with that new moped and James as a rider, no one knows how his health is, and if the Ward comment has any truth to it, but I'm pretty sure the decision to avoid this event has valid grounds.

Hopefully everything is set and dealt with accordingly to tA1. Will be nice to see him in the mix again, and this season could be epic if the major players stays healthy for a few rounds...

whats the point of having records if other people cant talk about breaking them? people are really holding grudges because of that? maybe he should keep it commercial and just "keep plugging away" and be "super pumped" and thank his "so and so backed Suzuki for getting him off to a great start."

Honestly, sometimes I think Red Bull almost pays James NOT to go to Monster events. Seriously think about it. Some people would go to the MEC just to see James race and some of that money would go directly to Monster. Probably conspiracy theory, but might have some merit.

Who gives a rats ass about the Aussie SX??? Oh yeah you forgot about the Montreal SX too.

I like James but I am just going by what I see. I think he is soft compared to RD, RV, and CR.

Last year is a perfect example. He was practicing for outdoors but decided not to do it because he wasn't ready. Then the Monster Cup. He released a statement leading right up to the race saying he isn't ready. Meanwhile RD decided to race the Monter Cup with only a couple weeks on a totally different bike. James switched teams but was still on a YZ450F.

James hasn't won a title or even came close since 2009. Leading up to 2009 he did all the races. SX, Nationals, and the US open.

I've thought the exact same thing. RedBull knows how much attention and draw JS7 gets and him being there would draw even more attention to the event, and thus promote Monster. I remember a press conference where Monster had cans sitting in front of all the riders. James sat down and moved them all out from in front of him. Someone called him out on it, and he said something to the effect of, "They were blocking the view of my sponsors(points to his shirt), gotta get them out the way so people can see my sponsors." It was hilarious. Truly a NFG move.

So by paying attention per your statement, they are to believe that everything TeamRags said is NOT true, because Leeroy said "none of the above".....great, they are back at square one again....

on a side note, i agree with what someone else said....anytime a pro is bagged on, or talked negatively about, everyone jumps on board and say things like "lets see you ride MEC"....these guys are pros in the limelight of their sport and just as in EVERY other sport, when they perform badly, they will be called out on it mostly by people that couldnt do HALF of what they can....its part of professional sports get over it.....Smile

I don't think it has anything to do with Monster. Dungey, Roczen, and Musquin are all Red Bull and they are going.

Don't make excuses for James.

I'm stoked that James has made such wise and smart decision. This to me shows how committed and hungry James is to win back that #1 plate in SX. This will probably be the best decision he has made in a long time. I would rather see a 100% healthy James at A1 than a 85% James at MEC with the chance of being hurt and then not being ready for the real Title. Congrats James on and very good decision.
