Did you really have pro dreams? lol

I've been passed by Justin Hill and Landon Currier a few times as if we weren't even doing the same thing. Like MX vs BMX, if you get the drift.

I was practicing at a local race in NC "devils ridge nc championship" in the early 2000's, they let the A & B class practice together and Damon Bradshaw came by me on the outside of a turn and pulled atleast 18-25 bike lengths away on a flat part of the track when I thought I was going WFO! Unfortunately Damon broke his leg in the second turn of the first moto and pretty much hung his boots up after that.

last lap of my moto at the Day in the Dirt in '05 at LACR, MC passed me over a decent size triple and did a whip look over.

probably one of my coolest moments racing. finished 8th in the open pro that moto.

In November '05 I was at Pax Trax in north Florida and Justin Barcia passed me like I was standing still. Yeah, he was on an 85 :-) Oh well. I have also been mistreated by Ashley Fiolek at North Florida Motocross Park in Hilliard, Fl. She passed me in a 180°bowl turn like I was stuck in neutral.

That's rough. Always assumed all guys exited the track to "work on their jetting" when Fiolek got on. Wink

Ha ha if knew she was there I would have bailed, no question. I didn't even know she was on the property, let alone on the track with me. She and her father were there in a pickup truck. Very Inconspicuous...

Had Brett Metcalfe and Matt Walker pass me at Budds over the Deer Stand jump before Henry Hill like I was standing still on practice day. They combined A&B practice for the amateurs that morning and they showed up for some laps as well. This was during their yamaha of troy days.

Also raced Mike Alessi a few weekends before his pro debut and luckily I wasn't one of the riders he lapped when they combined the A and B motos together.

Doug Henry passed me over a tabletop at ADITD last year. Pretty sweet. I'm not claiming to be fast, but he pins it, even now.

Thought I was hauling ass at the world vet a few years ago at Glen Helen until Jeff Ward jumped over the top of me. Humbling.

Erik Kehoe on an 80 at Indian Dunes. I was in my prime and realized then that I was destined for mediocrity.

Josh Grant passed me on the outside in a 180 bowl turn at Milestone, gained a lot of bike lenghts during the next straight, and then jumped half the whoop section, I was mindblown...

Also, Josh Hansen threw a flat whip above my head at a Glen Helen double to pass me, lol.

Scott Sheak past me at Diamondback MX in NY maybe in '95 or '96 before he went to Honda. I had to check that my spark plug and chain were still on the bike

He did the same thing to me at the Golden State at Gorman in 1986. I was leading the 250 intermediate class for 3 laps and he passed me like I was standing still and beat me by over 10 seconds. And it was only a 5 lap race....

Day before the National one year at Gaterback. I got a very good look at Jeremy Buehl's skid plate from below.

When I was riding in Canada( C level or junior as they call it), Dusty Klatt blew by me and I couldn't even see him over a rhythm section. I occasionally rode the same track with these guys and Darcy Lange, same story...Darcy was whoop king! It is humbling!! Smile You pretty much just want to give up riding!!

Been inside the top 10 in outdoor motos and RC still lapped me. Got 10th at Daytona a few times but I remember RC lapped me twice when I was 10th. This was back when Daytona Main event was 30+ mins but still, that guy was truly a badass.

In practice at hangtown one year I was trying to stop for the corner after the big uphill double where you land flat, when I turned down the hill Carmichael had already taken the inside rut and was a few bikelengths down the hill. Didn't even know he was behind me.

Hawthorne, Bogard and Vallejo used to embarrass me regularly. You'd think they could find them a different place to ride.

When I was 14 ('02) at the Florida gncc, Jeff Emig wonl the overall am race from the front row Industry class. About an hour in, I was getting pounded by the sand whoops all alone, Fro came around me like a ghost. I forgot about him racing that day, when I saw him it caught me off guard! I never had a pro dream to bust, if anything I felt like a pro for a split second until he disappeared just sharing the track with him.

Years ago at a Millville practice day I was the last rider in B to go by the flag stand before the checkers came out. I was going through the whoop on a CR500 and Ryan Dungey and some other kid passed me so fast it was silly......and they were on 65s. Found a short cut and pulled off. I just couldn't finish that lap! lol

That same day in the combined A/B session, Heath Voss quadded the three doubles section at the back, jumping over me easily 25 feet over my head. Crazy.

Speaking of quadrupling, Dusty Klatt was truly the James Stewart at local Canadian tracks, if he could find a way to combine a section of doubles into a single he would!! We did not get to see his true potential Stateside. LOL. I like the comment about dudes pulling off to check their jetting when Ashley gets on the track!! Smile

Can we turn this into a Jeffrey Herlings thread? This one time at lommel....

On a serious note, any time I've ridden a sand track.
