I think the U.S. has hosted this event more than a fair amount of the time.

As for the 2002 event.......................I'm surprised the FIM would even consider, allowing us to host the event, ever again! (thank goodness they haveSmile )

Guys it would be a cost that some tracks can't afford. It has to be located where there is a large population of racers that would go watch and near a major airport for people to fly into. Hotel space and other activitys for people to do other than sit in a hotel room when not at the races. Wait thats Southern California. Just kidding aside it has to be in a big market place. Like Orlando, Atlanta, Vegas or near New York or Washington, DC or Southern California. It's not a cheap project to undertake.

I understand the argument of the world not revolving around the US, but look at France and Belgium... I think we should get it every 3-5 years, and that's about what we get so I can't complain really. Australians are the ones that get screwed.

Why ? Because the USA is only 1 country out of the 33 that competed. So normally the USA should only host an mxdn every 33 years.

The GP of Austrialia, can't say I recognize that. The American riders don't really travel and anywhere you go on their schedule they speak English and you pay in $. Try traveling on a GP schedule, that's serious World travel, So having the MXoN at well used GP familiar tracks pretty well centered around the Europe mainland for the world's best and knowledgeable fan base. You have to realize that in addition to the full GP schedule each individual country has a Championship series so the GP riders are basically riding every weekend and the local fans who can't attend the country's GP do get to see their country's representatives and heroes up close and personal. Plus they also train ,test and ride small local tracks unlike the closed private groomed tracks made to mimic the next race as in the USA. So you could conclude it's more of a people sport than in the USA, hence a need to make it available to a wider based European fan access

because its good for the americans to race out side of American as thats the only place they race Wink and to get a taste of what GP riders do all year round, racing in a different country each round ! Whistling

4. 2002 was not complicated. It however was a complete and total clusterphuck of epic proportions that never should have been allowed to happen. A damn disgrace to MX in the U.S. would still be an understatement a decade later.

Its cheaper for mohammed to go to the mountain than to move the whole mountain to mohammed.
Also team Usa draw a huge crowd to the event when held in europe. To bad they dont sign autographs
