iam sorry i was not going to join this site but often read it, but i felt after reading this i had to reply. in the lead up to this event on this site and many others most American fans told us gp fans that the track does not matter and you Americans were going to come over and woop our ass, now all of a sudden you Americans have not seen a track like this, iam sorry you cant have it both ways, i watched a verb moto vid in the lead up to the weekend were dungey said" i used to ride a deep sand track back home" was he telling lies?. this is why so many euros have come on here and gave you guys crap cause most of you Americans cant wait to stick the boot in to our riders, i have read on other American sites before the mxdn that our riders are second rate, all most of us euro fans want is a little respect for our riders and it seems that alot of you guys are now giving us that after this weekend. but silly things said like cairoli's 350 is a 400 or was it bike set up and so on will only lead to more crap from euro fans. this past weekend was a great event where i think every rider went out gave there best, i actually gained alot of respect for the comments that dungey, baggett and barcia came out with after the race, thoses guys did you and themselves proud but were beaten fair and square it is as simple as that.

No half this forum thinks Europe is a country.

I'm still hurting we didn't win.
Been cursing at Jvh's KTM all day long.

Besides, The Prince told us Germany could have this one after losing 2 WW's.

No the the Euros does not deserve kudos. Not the the North-Americans either. But all the riders contending in lommel does for sure.

Yes, they do deserve kudos. Every ounce of it.

Racing is racing and we got third yesterday. Kudos to all the riders. Herlings, Cairoli and Roczen are three of the top riders in the world and yesterday they proved it.

At another track, another day, with other conditions they won't be. That's what happens when you are on top. Everyone is gunning for you.

I don't think the Euros as a whole deserve kudos. GERMANY deserves the kudos. They were the best country that day and their win shows for that. Congratulations to Germany and Belgium for showing us how it's done. You best believe we'll be back and ready for some redemption next year!

The Euros deserve the same credit we gave the Americans when a bunch of Euros-defending champ Bolley, Smets, DeRuever, and a few more went to Southwick and got smoked. Everyone said "See, they got nothing for our guys."

Now they get to say it. Roczen said it best I think. Smart kid. He's a talker like Reed. People will get to like that. Smile

Sure the Euros knew a very tough track and how to ride it already, and I think it was Baggett that said its like racing in Europe then trying to race Anahiem with two weeks prep. There are tracks, like Southwick too, that take time to master. Lommel isn't the only one in Europe like that either.

The US guys aren't used to talking on the world stage yet. They should have started out with a nod to the winners (Team and individual) and said "You guys were the best in the world today..." Then talk about kicking everyone's ass next year.

Roger was sitting there in a shadow looking sad while the team each spoke in press, the he started out with giving the winners credit, which was cool.

The US guys said they knew it would be hard, and the regulars know the track already... Some people call that "excuses," but that's too harsh. It's just what was on their minds when they pulled off.

BTW-The whole thing was cool as shit. Chuck Sun was in press talking about the shit he stepped in Friday...

Why the hell would any US Pro feel compelled to race the GPs? Luongo and his cronies are corrupt as fuck and the travel from country to country sucks balls. Yes, I've traveled all throughout Europe for 3 weeks. It's a nice place to visit once in your life, but you all are rude as fuck (European rule of thumb to have a stick up your ass or be a complete douchebag) and the weather is shit.

We here in the US "mostly" speak one language, have many options of edible food and an abundant of toothpaste. Oh, and it's not a requirement to have a passport or visa to travel any direction in a 25 mile radius. I think we'll be staying here to race.

American!

I had a blast over there.

I was chillin with Luongo after the races last night. He's interesting if you sit down and chat. He knows the bullshit you guys hear and won't try so hard to argue with everyone. It doesn't matter really.

After my backpack was stolen from a coffee shop in Spain and had an attemted pickpocket in France from some heroin addict, I was looking for a shirt that says "this place and everybody in it sucks".

I just about kissed the ground when I landed in LAX vowing never to return except for Ireland.

Absolutely,

The Euros beat the US, which they have not been able to do the last 7 times. Does it mean much? Like the Euros are faster? No because of a couple reasons.

First Americans had a bad hair day. If Barcia would not have hit another riders and lost spokes, (self inflected) or Barcia would not have distracted Dungey and him went off track (again team inflicted) things would have been different. But it didn't work out that way and Team America got third

Second, home track advantage. This was especially hard for the Americans since they had never ridden this type of track. Herlings had this as home track and he learned the track and gained a skill for sand, which seems to help him on other sand tracks as well.

What did Roczen say about this?..

At least this time team usa, saw that when u go away from home, its not alwaYs easy. condoitions are brutal for u and normal for us.
for me there were a few other things when i went over there. so that answer’s a lot of peoples thoughts/questions.
— Ken Roczen (@KenRoczen94) oktober 1, 2012

Well first, it wasn't brutal, the Americans had some bad luck. Barcia was pressing pretty hard and done pretty well.

The second statement seems like an excuse as to why Roczen did not do well over here. But the Americans won 7 years straight and many years before that even though most of those races were on Euro soil and the Euros had track advantage.

I think it unrealistic for us to expect the Americans to win every race, In this instance we see how home track advantage combined with a bad day can bring us down to 3rd place. Pretty impressive , Kudos to the Americans as well even with bad luck and a track disadvantage they were still on the podium.
Yeah, and if my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle.

As a team, the US did pretty well. Individually, they got smoked by two guys who were untouchable on the day.

I remember when a younger Caroli and everyone else was smoked by Villopoto on a 250 when the MXON was here.. Did it mean much?, No, What means a lot is the Americans have smoked the Euros for the last 7 years. That kinda says something like winning a championship and beating the competitions 7 times in a row.

This is a team race and the Americans strategy is to get the trophy even though it didn't work out that way this year, and that is what is important, Did Caroli or Herlings country take home the trophy? Nope, they really weren't in the running so they went for the individual with. Good for them, the US still took 3rd even with a bad day? . Lets see who takes the trophy home next year and the year after..

Team USA probably will , and we moto-fans are well aware why. How would that make you any better brappster?

Team USA took the uncommon defeat like men, no excuses, and they will be respected even more after that. You brappster on the other hand...

I wish vital forum would close. Even media is buying in to some of the bullshit we talk about here. Thinking the euro-fanboys and "these colors don´t run"-americans speaks for all the moto fans opinions.

Real fans appreciate good riders, no matter orgin. I don´t know who is the best rider, no one does. Everything is based of what if.

Ye, he pulled this one out of nowhere. He should be great in 2014 in Kegums!
No, he did not pull this one out of nowhere. Tanel is always fast in the sand and a few weeks before he was even on the podium in Lierop GP.

I really don't understand this anger and disrespect.
USA won the last 7 years, because they have some great riders, some good ones AND A TRUCKLOAD OF LUCK!

this year Cairoli and Herling (and some more) lapped your riders, the Euro school was hands down the best on that tricky energy sapping track.

You were lucky to get the podium, because the luck played at your advantage this year too.

At the beginning of the second moto, you were pretty leveled in points with Holland, Great Britain and Belgium...and luck (to your side) or misfortune to the Euros's side played a big part with mechanical problems at the very beginning for Coldenhof, Van Horebeek and Nicholls in 3 different occasions.

Once someone told me: "In this life, it is better to be lucky than to be good (smart)"

And USA is very lucky!

Remember in 2009, Italy; France and Italy were leading in points at the beginning of the third moto then disaster struck: Cairoli (winner of the first moto) was a target of a stupid rider that went opposite to the direction of the first corner, bike destroyed: game over for Italy, after 500 yards a big pile up left Paulin injured (winner of the second moto)

2010: Good shot for the USA, nothing to say....but the start of the last moto with Dungey and Short leading....mmmhhh, but we never accused you of outside indication as you did the year before with Cairoli that nailed the first moto

2011 France....France leading before the final moto (Paulin won the second moto and Reed the first): with pourcel and Paulin it was almost done...but then disaster struck again against the Euros with Pourcel breaking the rear tire
Cairoli broke the handlebar and the wrist in that occasion

2008 ....great effort from the Team USA, They didn't win a moto, but that's ok, they won the trophy

2007 Budds Creek: talking about home advantage, Villopoto was the undisputed king, RC gave his best.....nothing to say, but we didn't find exuses for the weird ruts and bumps of the track

2006: Donington......USA won, but cairoli and Everts dominated the moto
2005: total dominance by the best RC and company
2004:...mmmhhhh sand soil in Lierop...you didn't show up.....

Yeah, you won most of the time.....but I think that BECAUSE THE HUGE LUCK you had anyway all the times, I think that we deserve your respect.

We are upset because here in Europe everybody respect the talent and level of the American Motocross, and I don't see the reason why you always denigrate the Europeans, you and many magazine (MXA especially).

You always tell you want our world Champs to come to USA to really check the level, we came in more than one occasion: Bayle, Albertijn, Vuillemin, Roncada, Chiodi, Paulin, Searle, Roczen, Mousquin....

Why don't you send Villopoto, Dungey, Barcia...or why you never todl to RC or other riders to really test their level ON OUR SOIL FOR A COMPLETE CHAMPIONSHIP!

I tell you what: RC could have won easily, no doubt about that....

But do you really think that Villipoto can win the Motocross World Championship right away?

I can bet my house he won't!!!!!

Send RV2 and RD5 for a complete season, THERE IS NO WAY THEY ARE GONNA WIN RIGHT NOW
