I still recall one of the biggest hoaxes ever was when Travis was going to clinch his 125 outdoor title, and the DAY before the race someone posted, "Travis broken femur, he is OUT, and my source is rock solid"

I will never forget that one. Was before FB or Twitter and we relied practically 100% on forums for our info.
