I've heard more about this kid in the last month, than any other rider in the world.
Believe the Hype? I guess that question will be decided when he faces off against Cairoli, DeSalle, Musquin, Roczen, Dungey, Barcia, and Baggett, etc.

He just beat , Bobreyshev, De Dycker, Leok, Simpson etc by nearly a minute in the Belgian nationals.

He deserves the hype and he has a lot of respect for Dungey and Barcia. I wonder if those guys have even ever watched him ride in a GP.

He has already beat Musquin, Baggett, Roczen and possibly Desalle as well and even RV.

He can run with all those guys.

please dont turn this into a 'who's better' thread, whole intention of the thread is to let everyone watch the kid ride the bike.

Much respect for his comments at the end. In the back of my mind, that little grin at the end tells me he is confident but doesn't want to put himself in a must-win situation by running his mouth. I've seen in other interviews he really seems to have a chip on his shoulder, but he seemed really cool here and happy to be racing against a new crop of guys on his turf.

I think if he doesn't go 1-1 in his MXdN moto's, it will be due to a mechanical or nasty crash. Or both.

As a Dutchman myself I wish I could support him more... Hopfully he goes through a bit of maturing from this drama this season like mike Alessi did!

I assume you're talking about the 2011 MXoN. How do you figure Herlings beat Villopoto?

In my country, a 3-1 beats a 2-9.

A 2nd is better than a 3rd. Winning a battle is not winning a war, but it's winning nonetheless

But who ACTUALLY beat who in the race? Or did they both win? In my country, there is only one winner per race.

You guys really stretch the facts.

If Barcia is ahead of Herlings for two laps, does that count as 'beating' him?

Herlings finished a race before Villopoto. If that isn't classified as 'beating' someone, then I don't know what is

That's all they have to hang on to. It's going to be sad when he doesn't live up to their expectations. Anything less than a win, will be a big disappointment, after all the smack talk from the Euro boys. Kinda feel sorry for he kid.

'all they have to hang on to' Jesus Christ... It's nothing to hang on to, it's a fact. Alessi beat Dungey at 1 moto this outdoor season aswell, that's also a fact. Or is that 'all what he has to hang on to' aswell?

Herlings is a dick, but a damn fast dick if you ask me.

2nd tier guys sneak a win when things don't go the way of the top guys like last year RV/JH and this year RD/MA, , Ferry beat RC once, so what?

confident, cocky and quick...I like that kid

I'm an American...but I wouldn't mind seeing Herling beat Dungey on the 450. Here is my reasoning...Dungey is in cruise mode and I feel he is not prepared for Poto, Reed, Canard or Stewart come A1. It would be nice to mess with his head so he buckled down even harder in the off season.

You done good Glen. You done real real good. LOL!!! I laughed out loud. Smile
