if I understand it correctly, did summey let off and slow down too quicjkly after the finish, and alessi and albertson were still racing, and jeff flew over the finish line and landed on summey, completely blindsiding him? You'd think he'd know better than to slow down coming out of gravity cavity...
The old Unadilla finish would not have had this problem. Summey should have kept going. Hope he is ok.

I apply zero blame to alessi and alberston.
He was not the one riding the flying projectile that caused the accident.
It was no ones fault, it was a fluke racing incident.
Gatorback has a similar finish line setup and I never witnessed an incident like that.
...a racer should be going at top speed, as he passes the waving flag.
If Charles Summey, chose to slow, he should have moved to the side, out of harms way
He rode practice, he knew where the finish was...100% rider error !
From what everyone is saying I don't see how only one person could be held solely responsible for what happened. You and everyone else on here has seen what goes on after the checkered flag has been waived. We have seen the winner style over, roll over, and jump normally over the finish line. It just depends on who it is. After the checkered flag you see everyone after the top 3 take the flag with a jump or just roll it.
The finish line at Unadilla up until this year I guess is not even a jump. It was just a line in a straight away. I have no idea what or where it is this year.
