Will the Geico boys play nice with BB12 next Saturday?

Edited Date/Time 9/3/2012 4:28pm
You know deep down the teams are super competitive with each other (Green vs Red). I gotta believe the Geico boys wont be giving BB12 any easy passes. No love lost between JB20 and BB12...A little contact could result in a lost championship for Mitch. Blake better have some 360 vision working this weekend. Blake may look like Dungey out there because he will have targets all over him.

My guess is that he brings home the championship with a conservative 3rd overall.

I fully believe that if Baggett (rather than Tomac) had tried to pass Barcia, Barcia would have run him clear off the track. I think Baggett knows to keep a safe distance. Either in front of or behind Barcia. I think Tomac is classy enough to not try and clear out the competition. Baggett has more proactive aggression to him. I gotta admit, I like seeing other riders try to get aggressive with Tomac. He seems to always be able to one up them.

I can't imaging the pressure on either sides. Maybe less for Tomac, as he just has to hope Baggett does something to hand it over. But anything can happen. Just like Pala 2010 between Pourcel and Canard.

In the press conference, Barcia said "no team orders"
keep in mind, he is only 18 back and still has a chance at this too.
Kawi could always drop Tickle and Rattray back down for the weekend if needed, but wont.

I predict Barcia and Tomac and going to get goods starts and are going to try to leave BB12. The cards will fall.

If I am BB12, I try to holeshot.... My concern would be a first turn crash.

It is 4 vs 1 out there.
I really don't see any foul play going on (Takeouts).
I see Bogle and Hahn if they get infront of him doing there best to keep him behind.
I can see Barcia cleaning him out but thats just Barcia.
As for Eli if he gets the chance, I don't see it happening but you never know.

Motocross is awesome.

I don't think that would be smart, Tomac - 1-1 and Bagget 6-6 instead of 4-4 wouldn't make Mitch too happy.

Baggett needs a 3-4 or better if Tomac goes 1-1.

I can imagine Barcia trying to get aggressive on Baggett but I think #12 will stay out of trouble.

Roczen is the key here. He's looked much better these past few weeks. A 4-4 performance from Baggett wouldn't be a huge surprise. If Barcia can't win, I'm sure he'd rather have Tomac take it. Funny that right after this race Baggett and Barcia will be together for two weeks straight.

I have a feeling Baggett is going to have a hard time this weekend and Barcia is going to do something crazy. How nuts would it be if Barcia takes out Baggett handing the title to Tomac then they have to be teammates right after! Still can't believe Tomac wasn't chosen over Barcia on Team USA.

Keep in mind that they made that decision before Southwick.

I have seen Barcia ride dirty and take people out since he was on 80s so if I were BB I would be on the lookout. I also think that both BB and Eli will be clean and race for the win.

I'm not saying anyone will ride dirty, but does anyone remember the west coast final in Vegas last year? Eli had a hell of a time in that race. I wouldn't be surprised to see that type of stuff again.

Yep.

I'm trying to think a few years ago there was a similar situation. Was it 4 PC guys w/ Tedesco vs Alessi? Walker & another PC guy lined up on both sides of Alessi at the start @ Glenhelen.

Geico needs to hire Alessi for the day.

Barcia takes out BB and we have to scrounge up two new riders for the nations.

That's true, Barcia isn't far behind in points if it it goes downhill for the others. He knows in his mind that if Blake doesn't do well that he can still win if he beats Eli. As for the clean vs dirty images I think that you can agree that Justin is more of an aggressor and will push his way in while Eli usually saves that for when he's the one getting leaned on.

If you ask me, I'd say Eli toe to toe with these guys right now can handle anything thrown at him. Unfortunately it's not completely in his hands and will need Barcia, Roczen, and a few others to help him out.

Everyone talk about Tomac and Barcia but your forgetting about Roczen and Musquin. They could play a huge role in this if they both get between Baggett and the Geico team.
