Four bikes stolen in Maryland

For the relative cost of a new/semi-new bike versus the insurance, IMO, it is foolish to not have the coverage separately. My state farm policies on all my bikes, including my son's 65, also covers liability, under-insured/un-insured drivers, and medical care. Pretty much the same as full coverage on an auto. So even if some jamoke wipes me out at the track and my bike is totaled and the other rider doesn't have any insurance (very likely), I am covered. Its something stupid like $25-$50/year per bike.

Man that really sucks, I'm sure they will be on the intetnet in no time at all, one of my best friends got ripped off near there and after many hrs at the pc he found his bike on a video! He kept tracing after that and found the kids myspace page as well then looked up his address ( had to pay for that part ) after he found out his real name.....long story short he rode Baltimore PD about it and gave them all this info, turned out the kid was due in court for "another" case around the time he called, they ended up bringing him in for questioning and all kinds of shit....at this point he didn't have the bike supposedly, around 4 days later my friend got a call turns out some other kid has his bike and laid it over right in front of a police car it ended up in washington in an impound lot, HE GOT IT BACK.......whichever one of them that thought they were a mechanic had removed parts, used spray gasket bs and all kinds of shit as you can imagine. the motor to it is in my garage now being rebuilt, will post a few pics when it's back on the track....Here is one before he changed plastic and it got stolen, and the vid of them riding in the fucking street, bike first appears at 2:56 in the video. If you do your research and check these guys pages the four bikes are bound to turn up, they can't help but to show off what they have stolen from people who work their ass off to get. Good luck to your friend!

That right there is probably why they spray painted white. Like said before, they sprayed the number plates so they weren't identifiable until they got them somewhere. ANY thief is an ignorant piece of shit.. but how the hell can you be dumb enough to steal someones bike, ride it around the city with the numbers and graphics still on it, and THEN put it on the internet? More of these wildout wheelie boyz need to take headers into the pavement without their helmets on. Might sound harsh, but I have no sympathy for a bunch of thieving dirt bags, and society has no use for them.

Reading this post only infuriates me more about a conversation we had at a party yesterday about our good old State of Maryland...

As many residents of Maryland have soon started to learn, almost anywhere you drive now speed cameras are popping up and taking a nice picture of your crimes (like busting a 42 in a 35mph zone).
Besides the grainy shot of your vehicle and zoomed image of your license plate, you get a nice speeding ticket and demand from ran$ome sent to you in the mail from the participating county.
As a fleet manager, our company usually gets a weekly stack of lawbreakers and since we are the vehicle owners, we have to pay the fines and either reprimand the employee and/or take it out of their pay.
I won't even go into the fact that from what I understand, third party "contractors" who own and operate the speed cameras are getting the larger percentage of the fines, with a lessor portion going to the actual county.

Long story short-- it was mentioned during the discussion yesterday by a fellow irrate Maryland motorist how the "speed nuts on motorcycles" are exempt from participating in this program because there is often no license plate to even read!
And this was from a blue collar guy who is out on the Beltway at 5am to go make an honest living!

Just yet another case where it is easier to bust the chops of those who contribute to our society rather then try to cure the ills of what plagues it...

Having had two bikes stolens myself, I feel the pain and will have my eyes peeled on the lookout for them as well.

I agree with Rob- I would love to see a sequel to that video....one showing wheelie boyz grey matter all over Light Street!! The Maryland State Police are not interested in 'law enforcement' unless it generates income. Finding your buddy's bikes will not make the state any $$$$, but handing out speeding tickets is very profitable. Sad but true....

One thing I would check would be Instagram. Not sure if any of you are familiar with the Android and Iphone app but every one of the "wheelie boyz" has an account with pictures of the stolen bikes they do wheelies on. I say this because most time the pictures are tagged with the location of where it was taken or uploaded. Might help you find a start. @chino_mmg @leem7st. The fact that people support these fools is beyond me. Anyone in the motocross community with a brain should know the bikes they ride are stolen..who would buy a 2011 RMZ to do wheelies through the city?

In order to buy a bike, you presumably have a job! These morons have no other job than knocking up the piece of $hit on the back of that quad and selling dope. The only way to solve Baltimore's problems is to level all of the projects, which they won't do because nobody wants that trash in the suburbs.

The red light cameras are how they are finding these bike thieves. Most of these "urbanites/getto trash" live in the hood and keep their bikes in the getto where they live or they will keep several bikes in a storage unit, the red light cameras are how they are being tracked and how they recover the stolen bikes.

I can't believe that their response was that 'white people come down there to sell their bikes for an 8 ball'!!! I can honestly say that I have never known a true MXer that would trade their bikes for coke. They should all be shot on sight- what a waste of air..

When you get a bike stolen .. dont tell the insurance company the whole bike was stolen, just parts, they have to cover that!

I have the same on mine but through a different company, but mine doesn't cover anything if I am racing though. I agree it is foolish not to have it. I used to think it was a waste of money, but now the piece of mind it brings alone is worth it. Especially at the rate these things are being jacked, and I can see how they are an easy market for these scum. You don't have to get them registered (in most states), normally they never see the pavement, light weight and easily transported and so expensive new. Yeah, get your shit insured people!

It's a bit weird why so many people praise these guys for their skills when the reality is, most (if not all?) of those bikes are stolen. I mean, classic example is the Brotocross guy; Says how "joe" people are for actually riding trails or tracks (admittedly not very well but still) but then praises these guys who literally just do wheelies. Wheelies aren't very hard if you do them on flat terrain all day everyday. Same goes for stolen bike articles on RacerX and the like. People go nuts saying how scum thieves are, but when videos like these get posted everyone is praising their skills and giving them incentive to keep doing it.

Slightly more on topic, I rode my CR125 around the block and some guy tried to pull me off my bike whilst moving. I guess strength in numbers. The cops could make many former bike owners very happy if they pulled their finger out and busted these goons.
