I guess the "Your Favorite MD/Vital Memory" thread got me all nostalgic.

RTFM.

Pull the top end and see what the problem is. Chances are if it's the original cylinder and has never been replated then it probably needs to be. Be sure to check for up and down play in the lower rod bearing when you get the top end off. But I do know one thing for sure...you got hosed.

10.5?
That bike won't start with 50 lbs. of compression.
These new riders get hosed quite often, and it's a shame because the think they are getting into riding with a cheap bike. It's never the case. That bike probably needs more than a top end, I think you should take it back to the seller and whip his ass if you were mislead.

We had a guy bring an RM125 about two weeks ago that he had just bought for about $1200. He had no idea how to adjust the chain or cables, clean the filter, or a whole laundry list other things that are basic to dirt biking. It ended up needing resleeved, a new rod bearing, the carb completely rebuilt, and everything that goes along with that job. The bike left running and costing him a fortune, but still needed major work on the chassis.
I't a hard lesson to learn.

I love how he leaves it just 10.5 not PSI or maybe that's 10.5:1 compression

Maybe he should RTFM for his compression tester too.

yea, I was about to ask, 10.5 what? If he has 10 pounds of compression, you could probably see daylight through the gaping hole in his cylinder.

"Read The Fucking Manual"

Are you sure you know how to use that compression tester?

If your compression is 30 psi, you should be able to push the kick start lever down with your hand with very little resistance, and there's no way it would start.

Will the bike run?

If you bought a bike that doesn't run, and didn't even try to start it before you paid for it, you need more than mechanical help.

So... before I stop being a dick, I need to know if you even tried to start the bike before you paid for it.

With low compression like that, check the piston return spring.

The problem is, he's a friend of suzukirmblink180something, and they're either both fucking idiots, or they're the SAME fucking idiot.

BTW, 10.5:1 is good, but you can't run pump gas.

You come here asking for help, and are given the correct answer (RTFM) and you then lash out at the person trying to help you.

Yup, you're fourteen.

Do us all a favor junior. Go ride a four-stroke. You two deserve each other.
