If Yamaha were smart they would offer a double bike discount for 2013,
a YZF and a YZ for..... $11599 ?,

They are not gonna ship to many four strokes,

Clearly from this board and the many 2T topics,
the ship seems to be steering back to the good old days of affordable racing itself,

What say Ye ?

This is not an anti 4 stroke posting, regardless of my feelings,

they have a boat load of old stock,
they could even offer it with older model thumpers, an 08 YZF or whatever with 013 YZ
All you hotshots would then have a cheaper practice bike to go with your "Formula one" inspired race bike.

maybe yamaha needs to start an aggressive Rebate program.

i bought a brand new F-150 ecoboost this month and got about 6500 back in rebates. tack that onto my 18k trade in and i walked out with a 24k bill. hell, i felt like i raped them (we all know that isn't the case, but it was hard to turn down)

take a yamaha for instance, sell it at the outrageous 9k, give 2500 in rebates just to flush the overpriced turds out of the dealership, and then give the happy-go lucky weekend warrior 1500 on his trade in. lot more attractive than going in and dropping close to 10k on a new bike.

KTM sells more two strokes than anyone. They sold 81,200 bikes last year. 14,000 of them two strokes. They sold LESS two strokes than the year before and more four strokes. So what this means is that 1 two stroke for every 5.8 four strokes. Almost 14,000 two strokes sold.. and 67,000 four strokes. Yamaha is 1 for every 12... cool story though.

This is why two stroke people are crazy, not mentally stable, and/or just plain stupid.. That's not a twisting of the statistics.... those are ACTUAL statistics for OFF-HWY MOTORCYCLES only. Not lawnmowers, generators, atv's, or tin foil hat dispensers. Things look more bleak for the two stroke morons, when you realize those numbers include MINI BIKES...especially KTM.. which sells TONS of 65's.

Oh and for the record, I like two strokes, I like the way they sound, and the way they smell reminds me of my days as a kid. However, I will take a 250f over a 250 two stroke any day.

As HighSider said above, two stroke lovers are a vocal minority. I wouldn't take the people who post on this message board as a reliable sample of the motocross community either - the facts and figures BIGHEAD1 posted prove this. I would also think that most people can only afford to buy one bike at a time anyway. I doubt many would go for this deal.

For the record, I like motocross bikes in general - 2 and 4 stroke. As a matter of fact, my current RMZ is only the second 4 stroke of the seven MX bikes I have owned. Buy the bike you want and go and ride it. There is no need to clutter up the board with unfounded propaganda and conspiracy theories.

Yes, I realise it was an idea. I didn't think it was a very good one, which I wrote in my original post. You should have re-read some of your posts in this thread before saying anyone else was getting "arsey and defensive." I meant my comments about the 2stroke propaganda and conspiracy theories in a general sense targeted at "the taliban" - they weren't aimed at you specifically.

I don't think you know what the word "minority" means either. Here is a definition:

noun (plural minorities)
The smaller number or part, especially a number or part representing less than half of the whole:
- only a minority of properties are rented
- those who acknowledge his influence are in the minority

I also race MX, Bro'.

You can't argue with statistics scottydog. Although I'm sure you and the other 2 stroke guys will try.
