the lappers were ridiculous yesterday! hardly any blue flags and nobody moving out of the way- messed up ken and almost took barcia down!

baggett rode great again yesterday but both marvin and ken looked better than they have done so far this season in my opinion- i'm looking forwar to seeing them both ride unadilla, i think marvin will be very good there

Looked like the lapped rider in that video held his line, I'd say instead of blaming the lapper he should watch how Baggett does it.

Saw one on the side of the track on that off camber being held in two hands... bs all round...

To me at the crucial point, the lapper was in front of Bagget and he quickly disposed of him. Previous to that, Roczen was happy to follow whatever line the lapper was running. Why didn't he take a different line? It wouldn't have mattered anyway, even if that lapper was not there, you would see that Bagget was flying.

The kid is a sprinter, simple as that. Problem is he gets a good lead, then settles into a comfortable pace. When the other riders catch back-up to him, it's hard to wick that pace back up. He's learning & will get it down soon. When he gets to the point where he can pick it back up, sprint out far enough others won't catch him or hold a more consistent pace, he'll start picking up wins.

Langston nailed it during the track announcing - KR needs to make better choices when it comes to getting around lappers. Simple as that.

And, there were blue flags all over the place all day, just like usual.

First I will say I love KR!!! I love his style of riding, and I am sure he will win a moto real soon!!

But, it always seems like the lappers are blamed if they do move out of their lines, or if they don't! It's a double edged sword. If they try to move out of way, they get blamed for changing lines. If they don't move out of the way and hold their line, then they get blamed for not paying attention to the blue flag!L

The leaders need to learn how to pass the lappers effectively. It is all part of racing. Either that, or the AMA needs to enforce the blue flag better. This half way b.s. is not working.

Always the same for the leader coming to the lappers !! He's the one giving the wake up call, where'as the second place guy has the advantage of an already aware lapper !! Huuuge advantage !

That lapper was a joke.... Not sure whether KROC's diet is par with the Honda and Kawi boys or not. However, if it is not..... I recommend changing it

I have studied nutrition. My customers would not be eating processed foods nor foods high in sodium. If you want to add salt to diet....... sea salt.

+ Organic Veggies and Fruits (No GMO)
+ Grass Feed/ Free Range Beef, Chicken
+ Wild Caught Fish
+ Super Foods such as Raw Cocoa, Raw Maca, Raw Spirulina, Raw Hemp Seed
+ Whey Protein shakes (No GMO, No Hormone, Grass Fed, Free Range)
+ Limit wheat foods (its a cheat meal) --> Gluten is a bonafide killer
+ Limit beans and rice (Hard to digest)

Lots of water.

Ryno has vast knowledge in proper nutrition. Baker is a legend.

If you feel tried after eating, you are eating bad foods. If you are weezing after eating, you are eating bad foods.

i know... read my post in This Thread

sodium is not that bad for you... i would put it way below wheat and dairy....

so Chipotle serves free range meat...
brown rice and veggies make up the rest

whats so bad about it?

Lets not forget too this is the first time he is seeing these tracks. You take these guys to one of his GP tracks and he works them. That lapper was terrible whoever 211 is needs to be fined or if I was KRoc I'd punt him the next I come across him in practice.

Tapia definitely held him up. But it looked like baggett was going to catch him anyway. They still had like 4 laps left at that point didn't they?

Baggett is a beast through lappers. It was crazy how he just rammed his way past Wharton and the other dude

While it is Roczens first time seeing the tracks nevertheless he has been able to holeshot and run up big leads. If he has the tracks figured out until the 25 minute mark than track familiarity is not an issue. He is just encountering issues finishing the motos strong. He should work that out soon.

Pourcel was winning right away when he came to the US and had no issues with the tracks that were all new to him.

I don't know how to break it to people, but ALL the rookies are seeing the tracks for the first time.

Not necessarily!

Most of the amateur kids who turn pro have raced on at LEAST one track that the pros race on now. With all of the amateur races across the country, I wouldn't doubt that many of the rookies have raced on more than one. Maybe not your son, but I am betting many of the kids who qualified for LL , alone, raced on some tracks that are on the pro circuit??

Wasnt the case when we were amateurs. Simply no time to go chase national tracks.

That's one of the most common misconceptions that fans (especially GP fans) think. The amateur riders rarely race on pro tracks until they are a pro themselves.

Maybe, but what other rookie is fighting at the front of the pack this year? Not knowing the tracks has to make some difference, more so in practice than at the 20 minute mark of the race.

KR is doing great, podium every round so far heading into the break, ask any rider out there at the beginning of the season if they'd call that a pass mark and i doubt you'd find anyone who wouldnt take it.

Several rookies have came in and did as well or better than Roczen is this year. Also, he is only a rookie to the AMA series. He has much more experience than an ordinary rookie. He is doing a great job though that's for sure. I think him and Barcia's starts will eventually allow them to pull away from Tomac and Baggett. You can't keep getting terrible starts like those two and always avoid trouble in the pack.

We're not talking regular run of the mill rookies that have outperformed what KR is putting up though are we. We're talking Stewart, Carmichael, Villopotto. Thats a pretty special group to even be close to. Reeds probably a good comparison when you consider his age and experience in the GP's and his first go outdoors would be very comparable to KR so far.

Consistency is what keeps riders in championships and he has been the most consistent guy out there. Just think only two riders have podiumed in each round so far in either class, and both of them belong to KTM. Big turn around when you consider what they were putting on the track in the US before now.

I think Roczen is doing awesome. Just tired of hearing the first time on the tracks excuse (not from him). If there's anything he needs to do, it's learn how to handle lappers, especially at the end of the race.

Yeah, I don't think the track learning thing is all that hard. Especially when you're getting close to the quickest qualifying time each round. Just the style of riding he needs to get used to. He's rarely ever had to push right until the end of the race before.

It's sort of odd how he just kind of gives up once someone has passed him though (moto 1 at Budds excluded).

Pastrana in 2000, Langston in 2001, Stewart in 2002, Reed in 2002, Hepler in 2004, Alessi in 2005, Villopoto in 2006, Dungey in 2007, Pourcel in 2009, Barcia in 2009. All those riders I listed were rookies to the AMA series who had comparable results to Roczen this year. Some were a little better and some were a little worse. My point is that not just the elite riders like Villopoto, Stewart, and Carmichael had better rookie seasons than Roczen. Learning the tracks has nothing to do with it once you get to their level.

I could debate with you all day about how many of those riders you listed weren't as impressive as KR in there rookie aMA year but thats not the point.

I agree that his failure to win a moto yet has little to do with not knowing the track, probably has even less to do with him eating chipotle. My guess is the different format, different style of racing, new environment and different country have more to do with it. The biggest factor is probably the 3 beasts he's fighting with each week, he will win and sooner rather than later imo.
