Ricky is at it again!
He will race 250 class on his YZ125 at REDBUUUUD and needs a little help.
It was fun last time. Let’s do it again.

He will need some of the funds up front to get there for gas, meals and room so any donations up front directly to his PayPal will be appreciated right off.
If anyone wants to offer contingency money for making the event, feel free as well, but this is mainly about getting him there and putting the bike on the track. List your donation after you send it or contingency here so we can see the running total. I will keep a tally as close as I can on this post as it goes.

Here is what his budget will be to get to the race if anyone wants to cover or put funds toward specific categories, otherwise any amount in the pot helps.

$800 Gas
$200 Entry fee
$275 license
$200 food
$600 hotel

His PayPal is renneron125@gmail.com if you want to send him funds directly. If you need another way to send funds just ask or PM him.

I like the idea, but I dont think he will stand a chance on an outdoor track, supercross is one thing but I dont think that 125 is competitive outdoors. I hope I am wrong because I like the kids thinking and courage for giving it a shot.
As for the cost, is there not a closer national for him to go to? Maybe save a little in travel cost?

He'd be better off riding a 250 in the 450 class.

same dude woulda put it in daytona if he didn't break. hes got a chance at the bud if he runs it pinned.

not sure where your getting deep sand. the start is tilled but that place is far from sand. its curled loam ruts if anything. put the 144 on it and run it. he'll have a chance to get it in. Smile

on top of that, he will get more red budddddddddddddddddddddddddds than any other rider if he shows up on the pinger.

The AMA does tho haha. Racing the 125 is fun but it's 100% for the fans. And there is no place better to do a race for the fans then redbud.

Shame on anyone hating on this. Does everyone forget how fast a good rider, flowing with a 125 singing can go? I reckon you have alot better chance of getting in the main races in motocross rather than sx.

I know I'll be shouting at the live timing hoping to get to see the 125 screaming for 2 x 30+2!

Roczen was 5th in the first heat in Fermo 2011. I would say that´s pretty good on a 2stroke. If you are fast you can make it work on a 125.

How exactly is that a fair comparison? Roczen was a world champion on factory equipment. Ricky is a dude from Florida riding his own mostly stock YZ125.

Probably as fair a comparison as putting a 250cc 4 stroke in the 125cc class to begin with. Gee thanks AMA, you buncha idiots!

Still needs to be a 6 round 125cc national championship on the off weekends of a 6 round WMA championship. Wondering which weekends would have higher spectator turnout?

A 6 round 125 series would be so awesome. They could split the rounds with the wmx. Would be a cool class for sure.

DC said no one was interested. Guess he didn't ask you....

Homework project for Renner:

Find out who actually IS interested and bring them all together. Make yourself heard.

I've already offered up $500.00 holeshot award money for each of six motos and bet I could find a match for the other six.

I've already offered to provide a bike for a deserving rider.

The problem is that only Yamaha and ktm have a 125 now, and no one is looking to put one out there. If some of the satellite teams had 1 guy they sponsored that would be a start and I wish it would happen, but don't think anyone important enough in the industry would care enough for it to work. I would be in for sure.

Apparently you dont even have to be AT redbud to get a RRRRREEEDDBBBUUUUDDDD. they were doing it at Mt Morris at the podium! hahahaha!

I'm going to yell it at Budds Creek next weekend.

Ricky, we both know your big brother has a '10 or '11 model 250SX laying around and they are legal in the 450 class.

Dd anyone take over the Mulberry track after Lyle passed away man?

Love the effort Renner because a friend of mine is going to try and make it on a 250 Honda. he recently pulled off a 1-1-1 last week at Red-Bud in the Regional for LL. My donations will go to Broc Peterson but still love the effort you guys are showing.

To bad we couldn't start a 2-stroke paypal fund to send them both but Broc will be driving and staying at the track, eating ramen noodles to cut more costs than your budget,

stay hungry!
And Good Luck!

Well that hasn't stopped the euros from running a 125 class in the GPs,
maybe if there was a propper 125 class the other OEMs would bust out new bikes? you cant expect them to bring out bikes when theres no real class for them can you?

but a 150 class would be the one as a 150 is more suited to a bigger range of riders, 125s should be for junior's

My point exactly, to many to count needing funds to carry out their dream.

It's a little different, I spent all my money chasing my dream. Now I'm giving people what they ask for, a 125 out there in the show. I have no hope and collecting any kind of money to cover even 1/3 of my costs. Kinda hard to spend that kind of money to go live other peoples dreams. If the people want it and come together to help, I will do my best to make it happen.

Of course we do have over 6,162 people who have signed the AMA 2-stroke petition. How cool would it be if we could get each one to donate a dollar?

That would get 3 or 4 guys there covering all expenses. What better way to show that people do want to see 2 strokes out there

I don't think it really matters whether the teams will take part in it or not. If they don't, then let the privateers share a part of the spotlight. Put an age cap on it (say, 15-19), accept A and B riders and call it Pro-Am. I'm sure it would make for a great show.

I want to see you run the 43rd fastest time in qualifying.

Then win the effing LCQ race in a full Mulberry pie type fashion.
