Try as you might, you'll never convince me that Morris Mountain is NOT supposed to be on Memorial Day Weekend.

Like many of you, I have spent at least 25 0r 30 Memorial Days on that hallowed ground.

And those raunchy Racer-X parties made me all squirmy and silly. Miss that schniz.

One fine day, we shall get our heads on straight, and Mount Morris Memorial will return.

Well, I'm thankful that I don't have to drive all the way to the east coast, and then back to Denver, and then back to Red Bud. I'm sure the teams and privateers are as well.

Don't you just fly around in the VitalMX corporate jet?

I miss the days when they had amateur races on Friday, Saturday and Monday and the works bikes took to the track on Sunday. Seems like it rained every year so we'd have three days of mud riding and only had buckets of rain water to wash the bikes between races.

I always thought it was dumb that they did Freestone and then went all the way to the east coast instead of simply going to Colorado.

When I brought it up here a couple years ago I was told it didn't matter because they gave the team a week off to do so so it wasn't a big deal. Thing is it helps the privateers out a ton the way they finally decided to do it.

The change in scheduling was for the greater good, but that doesn't make it any easier for those of us (I include myself) who grew up spending our Memorial Day weekends at High Point. Please come by in two weeks, hopefully we will have some of the same old magic (but no mimes or clowns, thank you) on a different weekend...

Agreed, change ain't easy.

But they did run a GNCC maybe a half hour away, for the first time, at a place
call Marvins Mountain. Old hippie concert venue. It was hot.

We have sat in that same spot on the fence where you took this picture every year since '97, great place to watch from. Won't be able to make the trip this year, headed to the Ballance MX youth regional, but we did get to go to the Area they held a month ago. I hope this one doesn't get clipped in favor of a SE national
