I really feel bad for Tortelli, he was my favorite rider when he raced and he deserved more respect from the GP riders. Sounds to me like he tried everything he could to put on a great GP and was let down by just about everybody (the Mexican media, the local workers, the riders, etc.).

I don't care if the World Championship is held by god himself and jesus was in the water truck. If you don't feel safe, you don't race, and nobody needs to say a damn thing about it.

Of course, the 'sheep' attitude is a whole different story... Sticking by a group just to not piss people off is retarded as well.
Ok so lets assume he agree's to "shut the fuck up", how about the riders who chose not to ride "shut the fuck up" as well in regards to their spitting on and antagonizing Leib and Anstie?

Seems plausible to me. So there was really no reason for the riders to fear for their safety with that many skilled professional physicians on hand.

I have no inside knowledge on this whole deal but it sure seems like the guys were much more upset about being asked to race in Mexico than the track itself.

When a guy gets lapped for the fourth time in 10 laps.
And then again when the same guy gets lapped by another guy who's being already lapped two times by others... and so on.

When a guy gets lapped for the fourth time in 10 laps.
And then again when the same guy gets lapped by another guy who's being already lapped two times by others... and so on.
This happens every week in the GPs. Last year there were GP regulars on teams who were up to 30 seconds a lap off the pace. Why is it suddenly worth mentioning in Mexico? Maybe because the riders were looking for any excuse they could grab at to seem legit.

Like my last post said, ANYONE can get an FIM license and race. All it takes is cash. The system is flawed beyond belief.

I respect him quite a bit and see his points but also agree if the riders feel it's unsafe, then it probably is.

Its not quite as bad as you make out.

Its only usually at the fly away races that there a few extra local riders who are sometimes way off the pace, this is when its really noticeable.

Its true that a few riders do pay to race (usually the kids in MX2), but this happens in pretty much all other forms of motorsport and it happens in the AMA too. However this is deemed acceptable because anyone is able to turn up and attempt to qualify. If a rider joins a GP team and is obviously WAY off the pace they generally won't be retained for very long! Common sense is applied sometimes.
