Good looking resto, definitely one for show. Looks like all the hardware was freshly zinc'd even.

6000 Buy It Now is still less than a new 450. If I owned it I'd ride the wheels off it and let the next person worry about restoring it again. Why would I save something like that? So my kids can sell I on eBay when I'm dead and fight over the 6000 split?

When I think of 76/77 I think of ear splitting exhaust. the smell of Castrol R the worn knee marks on aluminum gas tanks
Motocross grew so fast. Think of the difference bewteen 4 years of 77 and 81. You could line up on a 4 year old RMZ450 and no one would notice now

I am not trying to pick this apart at all, but I am curious. Is there supposed to be a choke knob on the carb? It looks like its missing?

Lots of mid 70's bikes used the "pull and twist" type choke pin like that RM has. Try it with gloves on.

If you looked closely at the carb it also did not have an idle screw adjuster. Suzuki went a few years without one.

If you look close at the carb you can see where it should be but it is not there. You just have a pull choke and an air fuel screw.

I have the carb in my hand for my 77 RM250 and it does not have one either. I'm not sure of the exact years they did or did not have one.

OK for moto but not for trail riding, etc.
