And why is everyone so naive when it comes to PR firms?
It sounds like the man has massive substance abuse problems. No surprise.
A proper 12 step program within the proper confines and honest AA sponsors will take a minimum of 3 years for him to complete and prove himself prior to ever racing a motocycle again.
I hope he puts in the hard work for those 3 years. He will still be a fairly young man and could be gainfully employed or go back to school and learn a trade.
As far as motocross goes he is done and rightfully so. If Yamaha or YOT do not eliminate him they will lose my business forever.
p.s. I had a brother destroy himself and many other people who loved him doing the very same things lawrence has. Tossed amazing talent, money, and fame out the window in his never ending quest to have fun and be a party clown. It took him 6 years (2 relapses) but today he is happy working a minimum wage job and staying sober. The main rule of sobriety is keeping your life simple. There is nothing simple about being a highly paid pro motocross racer.

I’ve run into some problems away from the track that have affected my results and it’s become apparent that I’ve got to address them. I am taking action to deal with these issues and to make sure incidents like what happened this past weekend don’t occur again. I’m calling on people that have been there with me through thick and thin, relying on them to help me with my problems and get me on back on track as I’ve come to realize these are things I can’t handle myself.
Motocross is my life. I love the sport and don’t know where I’d be without it. And being a champion I’m constantly in the spotlight and my every move – good or bad – is discussed and debated online and in the press. It’s a lot to handle and, in all honesty, I’ve had a bad year dealing with it.
But that’s going to change. I am going to try to turn this into positive and use this opportunity to fix the things that are causing these problems in the first place.
But regardless of who wrote it, if JLaw agrees with it and lives up to it he'll be back.....
WOW.. stop the threats.. don't make them file bankruptcy just because "YOU" do not approve.. LOL.. what a joke you really must be..
Too little too late.
I say give him his bike and his license and put him back in the semi.
Not saying he won't be fired, but here we are Wednesday and haven't heard anything from the team. I imagine there are more than a few people on the team fighting like hell to keep him.
Pit Row
That letter reeks of proper grammar and punctuation.
Sepkovic (like JLaw could spell that one correctly !) should have written something a little less eloquent.
I might have believed it then.
In Russia we have no translations of MX or SX compititions. What does JLaw did? Something terrible? Or not so?
