How many years did Chad CHOOSE to ride the Yamaha for? Now he sits there and talks shit about it. Same situation.
I think if Chad would've got off the Yamaha around the time everyone switched to the 4 stroke he would have more wins today.
Also, Chad had Epstein Barr and that is how he got off the Kawi asap.

ive said it before, and ill say it again. James can say, think, blame the bike... his real battle is father time and competition that grew up watching him and by 13 were doing the exact same things that gave him an advantage.

my proof... James has rode bigger pieces of shit faster, against the old guard of legends, but now with father time creaping in and the new breed of legends in the making, its just not as realtively easy, so something has to be the problem and noone will look in the mirror first.

imo it goes like this. He gets on the Suz and either he wins and the old james is back mentally, or he doesnt win right away says thats ok first race, work on the bike ect, and if he then doesnt start winning, now the suz is the problem.

James is NOT wired to view 2nd as a good race, period. its win or you failed.

Tell that "father-time" crap to the almost-30-year-old Chad Reed at the beginning of 2011. If Reed, who hardly ever pushed James to the tippy-top of his level, can come back at 29 years old at put the smack down to the field at the beginning of the outdoors last year, who's to say Stewart couldn't do the same at 26 years old?

I think it's partly to do with the guy in your avatar saying Stewart has been riding a turd for the past three years that makes people think that we may see the old Stewart. So we will see who is smarter you or Reed. And while I hate to agree with the squids on here that are completely blinded by hate, I also think Stewart will struggle, mostly do to the pace and not racing outdoors for three years.
^^^What this guy said. Reed has stated time and time again on the Pulp Mx show and on twitter that he is glad James isn't riding the Suzuki. He had seen the tapes of him riding it and he knew. He also said the pace has stepped up, which I believe it has. I just honor and respect Reed's words when the dude says something. He's as real as it gets in the moto world.

As a fan of everything motocross, and not just one rider. I would love to see Ryan and James battle it out all summer long , hell I would like to see Alessi or Millsaps sneak one or two in there too ! its kinda boring to see one rider just kicking everyones ass every week . but its my opinion that Dungey's speed and fitness will give him the edge this summer !

Agreed, but it might be better to say a 'so-called shitty apple to a so-called shitty orange'

I just have to LAUGH at all you who are saying James is gonna turn it around, be back to his old form, go 24 - 0, no one is gonna touch him this summer, he's in for SURE for the MXoN!

Laughing

No one has seen him ride a Zook, no one has confirmed that he is riding a Zook, he SAID he will be at Hangtown ( but I seem to remember him saying he's racing the Nationals even if he had to buy and drive his own van to the races - oh yeah.......he didn't show up that year.....), and he can't keep a bike on two wheels since 2009!

Have fun with your Bubba fantasies!
LOL at this guy.

Always comes in with the JS hate.

How about we just wait and see? There's an idea.

I have been saying this for the longest.

Chad has never consistantly been as fas t as James. EVER.

So how all of a sudden is he as fast?

Chad is older, and father time would have caught up to him long before it did James.

People can say what ever they want but James didnt fall off that much.

I think it will be interesting to see James' results if he shows up outdoors on a Suzuki. I don't think he will suddenl return to his old form and instantly start winning as he hasn't faced outdoor for 3 year is showing up on a bike that he has limited testing time on and he still needs to sort his mindset out first. He has always been a guy that has to win or crash trying and has been able to do that. Now the rest of the field have stepped up their game (they all have admitted that the field is faster then ever before and have stepped it up) and James needs to accept that he is no longer fastest man on the planet. His inability to let go of the title of fastest to me is what is causing most of the crashing due to trying to push harder. If James could accept top 3-5 finishes on the Suzuki we will see him battling for a championship however if he comes in thinking he has to win everything like normal all I can see is consistent crashing. Just my thoughts

Uh I dont think he blew away everyone in the heats, I remember a couple crashes and a few very close heat wins. And just a reminder the main events are 20 laps as opposed to 8 which means the more then double the time for something to go wrong. Reed hating the KX is fine with everyone, Stewie hating the Yamaha is unacceptable with everyone. go figure

Does anyone on here think chad rv or dungey would be the same rider they were this year on that fucking Yamaha? I don't really think so. If a small frame change on Rv's bike last summer helped him get a little faster I think a whole new and better bike will help JS tremendously. I don't think he'll dominate but he will be a lot better on that zook!

I find it funny the frames changes to the 2012 are very small but it made a huge difference to RV. Now people seem to think that there is nothing wrong with the new YZ450 when they pretty much turned everything around on the bike. So apparently if you design a radical new bike there complaining about how it sucks is unacceptable.

With MXA further saying JS7 will be riding a redbull suzuki i really hope this suzuki rumor is true.

I LOVE james.

i just hate that he gives himself the luxurious window of 2 fucking weeks to get a bike picked and begin dialing it in for the outdoors. While Dungey has xxx and possibly x hours logged on his ktm.

quit the shit, pick a bike, train, test- and go perform. Like a professional fucking racer. Please.

You ever heard of a contract?

How do you know he hasn't picked a bike and been testing it?

If it's because he hasn't told us, refer back to question 1.

when father time gets in your "kitchen" is different for everyone. Some haul ass at 35, Windham... some 30.... some 25.. the reckless abandon, the no fucks given if it goes bad, the dont think just twist the throttle more at some point get less and less .... implusive. conscious thought creeps in. repercussions of what "could happen" if, just if, it goes bad become more pronounced

There is no set date or time or age. Noone can be crazy ballz their entire life.

Add to that the fact the when RC and CR where racing, everything JS7 did was innovative and omg how did he do that. They were behind the curve on somethings technique-wise..... RV, RD at a younger age have been refining JS7's innovations and building on them. Want a better example... watch TC41 scrub. Noone consistently, lap after lap, does it. Not JS7, not CR, RV or RD. Barcia, KRoc, wilson... the next young lions do, and they are the next big dick swingers in about 3 or 4 years in 450SX.

and lastly, add in hes not happy. The results, in his mind, suck ass unless hes winning. period. JS7 really does think that if you aint first you are last. no comedy intended. he truely thinks anything other than a win is a fail and something to be embarassed by. So, the two things above are creeping in, and hes pushing harder and harder..... If he goes down in a turn pushing, it cant be his fault hes going past the laws of physics in the known universe, it has to be the bike. Hey, it might be somewhat. But again, hes rode worse faster.

So, you have a JS7 that now cant quad something crazy and noone will cowboy up. RV, RD, TC, KW and CR will. So there goes that advantage.

You also have a JS7 that can scrub a triple or finish line and gain 1 tenth, problem is, now everyone is scrubbing the exact same things and a few even moreso, so there goes that advantage.

What does that leave, corner speed. And its been proven time and again, JS7 will keep pushing and pushing until he goes down.... problem is, it was tough for anyone to go his speed in the past. Now though, there are 5 guys that can and even go above it! (yes 5, KW can when the mood strikes him and what happened? proving my point? JS7 kept going faster and faster until he went down, took KW with him also)

so an answer is needed. and its never the guy in the mirror. you never settle. screw reality and a new cropof riders that are at your technical level at a younger age therefore having more time doing and refining it. that leaves just one thing... the bike.

There is a ray of hope though imo. Hangtown and a thin field or A++ guys. Chad, Trey, RV, KW, wont be there. Rd will. If JS7 can win Hangtown on his new zook and get a little of his mojo back, 2013 SX will be really interesting for a few rounds. hes just got to get back to his happy place and realise it wont be as easy as it used to be.
