Yeah, that's too bad. He was killing it last weekend in the big bore class, too. Oh well, plenty of action to be had in SLC either way.

There should be a whole bunch of guys (Metty, Brayton, Grant, Chisholm, Alessi, etc.) thinking they've got two shots at a win before the end of the season.

I agree, as a Ken Roczen fan this is a real concern imo.

He's been at this most of his life. I know that should equal being used to all the travelling but it may also be a prelude to burning out completely. Plus the AMA scene is a step up in that regard. The schedule is absolutely gruelling even for the AMA regulars who are used to it. I love the sport as much as anyone but personally I think it's an insane amount of racing. Yes, the GP riders do race longer motos but they also take much of the year off and sometimes have very generous gaps between races. The AMA series (combined SX/MX) is the most physically demanding in the world because it's non stop almost all year round.

When you hear KR talk about all the travelling he has to do even before he gets to the race... I think there's a real danger he might be exhausted 2 or 3 years from now when he jumps up to the 450s. I really hope I'm wrong.

I think you're giving his tweet the typical disproportionate VitalMX scrutiny.

He's simply chosen not race an event that he wasn't scheduled to do in order to concentrate on outdoors preparations. With all things considered, that is a sensible decision in most peoples books.

I think Dungey had an outside shot at retaking second overall in the series before Seattle, and having some extra orange support wasn't a bad call. After his crash there, it's a lot longer shot.

The other thing that was specific to Seattle was that the Red Bull/KTM team was hosting the head of Red Bull's worldwide motorsports efforts for his first-ever Supercross.

It is a bit of a worry,I took a quick look at schedule's for Zach and Tonus and as far as I can make out its something like:

Hawkestone park international 26 February (3 x 25mins+2 laps)

8 Maxxis British championship 11 March (3 x 20mins+2 laps) that's more than a SX day and ends on 7th March

16 GPs inbetween,9 April-23 September,2 days with longer Motos,that's less days inbetween and all country-hopping

MXdN 30 September

I don't know if that's it but with only doing a reduced Lites series I don't see Ken's schedule any tougher than that? Unless he didn't do a National Championship,I'm sure Jamma,Kong,Steedmills and co will put me right there

GREAT news! as much as id like to see ken take his first sx win, i would rather see him go into the outdoors 100% so he can show people what he's all about. Hopefully all the contenders will be fit for outdoors- whats the latest on deans shoulder?

Wow...RD5 must have been upset that their was a different orange bike battling for the win.
First he couldn't share a gear brand with J-Law.
Then he wouldn't let the JDR team practice with Mookie while he was there.
What next? Will K-Rock have to switch gear companies.

Oh I agree, I mean I think he should just concentrate primarily on the 250 Outdoors now. That's where he should shine.

It's just a couple of times now Iv'e heard him say he's really tired with all the travelling and he didn't realise it'd be that bad etc. He hasn't done a full year yet, so by the end of this year he'll know what to expect and hopefully be a little more in tune with it. But ultimately he does have to get in tune with it otherwise it's just going to be a major drag and he's going to get burnt out. That's what worries me a little.

I wonder if there is a possibility that they don't want him to ruin RD's chances at 2nd place in the series, so they come up with that excuse to pull him.

KR is a contracted 250 rider. Riding the 450 class I would be fairly certain is a bonus oppurtunity. He showed what he can do - now it is time to focus on the contracted goals. Vegas and the outdoors.

I suppose it is possible but I don't really think it's that because when Ken got 2nd last week he was saying something along the lines of "I was looking forward to a break but after this result I think I might try next week". Well of course once the excitement of that result dies down.... and then he's looking at another long journey when he probably just rather stay at home and relax.
