J-Law Fired From Team YoT / Boost Mobile

7/7/2008 3:04pm
this just in.....

Jason has NOT been fired from YoT....at least not yet. Nothing is final at this point. His team is doing the best they can to be supportive of him and the issues he's facing. This is a complicated issue and there is no easy resolution for anyone.

Jason has a history of casuing mischeif, but most of it has been pranks or annoyances. Yes, he annoys a lot of people. Yes, he has a way of getting under your skin....But, what has he done that is truly so bad for the sport? he is more of a PITA than a real danger, at least to anyone other than himself.

I know multiple industry members with DUI's, some who have rolled or totalled rental cars while driving drunk. I know plenty of insiders whom have gotten into fights at the track or at the bar after the race. I'm not saying any of this is appropraite or even acceptable but why is Jason the one who seems to be recieving all the negativity lately? Why is he the one you all seem to direct your anger towards?

In time and with the support of people who care, most of these people see the err of their ways and move forward with a more productive life. I believe jason could do the same if everyone would stop the BS for a minute and try to see things from his perspective.

We're dealing with a situation involving a young man with problems. Social probelms, but more importantly a drug problem. This same young man possesses an incredible amount of talent and ability for the sport we all love. Every one of us could offer help to this person to get on track and to straighten himself out. But instead most of us would rather sit at our desk and preach negativity. Maybe if we offered support instead, it would be enough to shift momentum in the right direction. By talking badly about Jason, all we're doing is helping to guarantee his failure. maybe if some of us believed in him as our fellow human, he would be more motivated to step up and be a better person.

Jason is not a dumb kid, he's a really smart kid who has had a pretty tough life and is very anti social. Unfortunately now with his success and all the opportunity that comes with it, he's found his way into a problem with drugs and alcohol. I just can't believe how ready some of you are to chastize him for this instead if even trying to understand where he's coming from.

I guess it's much easier to write someone off than help to fix their problems....

because the truest measure of one's worth and/or credibility is their post count and screenname on a message board?.....

Excellent welcoming policy you have implemented here. With coments like STFU noob, surely you must be kidding?

A lot of people, many of whom know a lot more facts than most of you, read the bologna you frequently post and CHOOSE not to post back in response because of yuor childish antics, this doesn't make your little club fancy and exclusive as you'd like to think, so much as it makes no one else want to be a part of it.

J-Law is a douche. The only difference between him and the rest of the retard flat billers is that he is fast on a bike. The threads about J-Law sure do bring out the morons.

Seriously what if someone jumped on him, maybe he was defending himself. I thought in USA you were innocent until proven guilty? Most the time a company waits for the verdict before they fire folks. The dude reminds me of me, maybe he has a curse? I bet he gets a decent ride and comes back.

i think if jay was able to race again this year he would come out flying and show everyone whats up. hes possibly the only one who can run with villopoto when hes on his game. at high point he was in and looked like he was closing the gap till the bike blew. jay will be back
How can you say he can run with RV? Is it because RV has won every moto since J-lose won the first one at GH? Oh, it's because he was fast on one track till his bike blew?

Regardless, the guy has tons of talent and should have stayed out of trouble. You don't get into a fight when you are on probation. You just don't. He may be fast and a nice guy but he is one stupid dude.

WRONG! he was Terminated!.... this taken from TWMX...."Monday Kickstart - Red Bud
The big news of the weekend came, yet again, from the West Coast SX Lites champ, Jason Lawrence. The YoT rider was arrested at the track Friday night for fighting; as for the details of the fight, speculation, rumors, and grandiose tales flooded the pits on Saturday. As for what is true, Jason's contract with Yamaha of Troy was terminated almost immediately following the incident, and the AMA is expected pursue further disciplinary action against the now-former Yamaha rider"
im not saying we're all angels and at one point in time we all need help/guidance but he doesnt WANT it... thats the difference...

anyone think he got hit hard enough to straighten out his fucked up jaw??

J-Law? Loooks like the law finally got his ass.

he is a disgrace to the sport of motocross in every sense of the word. he is not now or will ever be considered a true champion.

we as motocross racers have a bad rep to alot of people as it is. and things will never change with guys like him looking like a piece of shit with all of the world to see. i think he should be done racing with the AMA for good. forget the suspension. the kid is finally getting what he deserves and for those of you who feel sorry for him you should really reconsider that. name one thing he has done thats good or benefitted this sport. the only thing i can think of is picking up hamblins tab for flights. that only slightly upped his own self image for about a week until the freestone incident. not once has he done something to improve the image of the sport, or even acted like a serious racer or chamion. he is proving people right who assume motocross racers are partiers and punks.

i am extremely happy and relieved to see him leaving the circuit. yes i agree the situation sucks and has to be heartbreaking to him. but he did it to himself so now he is getting what he deserves.

wiht guys like lawerance out of the sport motocross/supercross will be taken more seriously by the public as one of the most physically demanding and skill required sports in the world. then sparking the interest of big sponsors.

plus it will be nice to watch a race without having to watch lawerance as he looks like a fish flopping around on the bike.

see ya 338.
bet it feels good to throw it all away

its funny how everyone has such big e-muscles sitting behind the computer, not one person here knows exactly what went on, if someone hit him in the face first do you really expect him to just sit there and take it??? i dont think so none of you would do the same, this has nothing to do with racing therefore the ama should have no place to say anything. This should be between the owner of redbud, and the police no one else.

He is a representative of his team, sponsors and the AMA both on and off the track.
If any of them deem his actions to be detrimental to their business, they can terminate the relationship.

well i find it funny you all are making a big deal out of nothing, like youve never got into a fight before. You guys make it seem like he got caught blowing lines of coke outside his motorhome and offering it to kids walking by. Every one is also making all this commotion about his drug problem...where does anything say he was on drugs at all, there is nothing in the past 3 years that says hes been doing drugs, he was known to smoke pot back in the day which every one you have tried as well but will probably give the excuse that you didnt inhale but that is besides the fact. Drugs have nothing to do with what is going on he got into a fight and got arrested for it, theres much worse things that couldve been done

Interesting to hear Davey Coombs say at RED BUD during Laroccos hall of fame interview that his voice was gone from screaming "free J-Law".

So now peoples magazine (rx) is encouraging such bullshit just to keep up with the worthless shit they print in the national enquier.
And this is from a promoter who does not allow beer to be brought in at his facility.

The dude is quickly stepping out of his league.

Did lawrence hook you up? because you must be high thinking any of the (less than 30) companies in this industry would touch that punk.

If he spent the last of his own money to race, the AMA would ban him from competition.

Yes he sucks as a human being that bad.

Depending on the suspension, he'll get a ride

Not a lot or any money, all performance, but he'll get a deal
Some team will want to hang a #1 plate on their bikes

It boggles the mind to think that some of you dumb asses STILL think what JLaw has been doing is no big deal. One guy even goes as far as to try and make us all feel guilty for his troubles. Give me a fucking break would ya'? Do you really think we should feel sorry for the kid because he had a rough up bringing? No one else in the moto world had a rough childhood right? So I'm supposed to feel sorry for a guy that had a tough time as a kid but made it to the big time in motocross, but is now throwing it all away because he can't control (or doesn't want to I suspect) his urges for drugs alcohol and fighting? Of course none of us are angels when it comes to either drugs, drinking partying etc, no one ever said they were, but comparing the average persons exploits to that of a famous racer is pure lunacy!

The differences between JLaw and Joe average? He's in the public eye, Joe average is not. He's getting paid big dollars to be a racer for Yamaha and a bunch of sponsors, Joe average is not. He does something stupid (again and again) he gets exposed to the public eye and raked over the coals, only Joe average's family really knows most times.

I hope this clears things up for you noobs now, as per long standing tradition: stfu!!
