From RacerX

"And with all that stuff going on, MotoConcepts team slapped some of James’ number 7 backgrounds on a spare bike. That had, for some reason, everyone talking. How did you take that?"

"For me, I’ve been in racing a long time, be it four or two wheels, and there’s always an ass in the pit area, and that happens to be ours. It kind of reminds me of my five-year old kid who needs attention and they start doing something to stir it up to get attention. And unfortunately he’s getting attention that way. Normally the crew over there is straight comedy, I enjoy watching it, but this was a bit out of line. I just think it’s disrespectful coming from a guy who in previous meetings, when we get together, is talking about respect and how to make our sport better. But then to do something like that is cheesy. But it’s expected."

Finally a guy who says what he thinks. Whatever you thoughts on what he said are, you have to admit in a world of ass kissing political correctness a bit of good old honesty is pretty refreshing.

Mike Genova adressed this last night on the Pulp show. Basically, he said they were just having fun, and Coy can get over it.

Depends how you see things, but maybe can add some shades of gray to the CP vs Motoconcepts drama... Just saying...

Still, DV has hinted his dislike for CP from day one.. I get the feeling he favors Genova despite whatever happened between the two, as when Tony took his seat? So in this CP vs Genova, he doesn't add any gray?

It's funny you mentioned the CP thing, since it kind of mirrors the JS thing.

Sounds like a guy who is all for making jokes until they are directed at him. Let's face it, this year was a disaster for JGR less Milsap's performance. If daddy didn't own the team he would be shown the door.

Something tells me if JGR would have put a 377 bike under its awning last summer when CP stopped showing up to races, Genova would not have seen the humor in it.

I thought Coy answered the questions as well as he could for the moment. I don't think it will be too long before Stewie is out anyhoo so they can both move on. I'm a fan of JGR-they took a risk to win and it didn't work out. He isn't crying about it. I think they will still take risks to win while learning as they go along.

How many races did Millsaps win? DM can thank the good Lord that there were so many injuries, otherwise he would still be bringing up 7th through 10th.

I am from GA, and I do cheer for him, but I am also not so blind as to see that his results are based solely on attrition.

As far as the Motoconcepts thing goes, I thought it was pretty damn funny.

He also said that they were trying to steal his rider away after he was already signed. They had Alessi down there testing after he signed with MCR.

IMO if you try to steal a guys rider for real, and they just joke about it, maybe JGR needs to rethink what's less professional.

They had planned to test with Mike long before he had signed with MCR. If anything 800 never should've gotten on the plane.

I agree with you 100%, but I don't think that one is worse than the other.

I like both of those guys though, if they both want to throw each other under the bus it's all fair IMO. The alessi thing was just left out and made it look like MCR didn't have a motivation to do that so I posted it since the pulp show is lost and many may have missed it.

If Coy was really on the ball he should have call several other teams and requested that they put the number 7 on all their bikes and take a picture to throw everyone else off. Problem solved.
