We can't help it!!!
I believe a statement will be made one week after the SX series...a statement he is racing the nationals...or departing from the team...I will wait patiently instead of working myself up...its just MX racing...IMHO
Pit Row
He made the outdoors GREAT to watch, it showcased his talents far more IMO (the first bubba scrub), personally I like the outdoors a lot more, SX is fun to watch but outdoors are still paramount to me. No outdoors AGAIN.... after he swore to be lining up?? (facepalm) Of course I understand the team situation coming into play or possibly Yamaha playing hardball making him honor some of his contract until october? Sure there is pride from both sides but its leaning towards "it just didnt work out." In a perfect world, I'd like to see everyone just walk away and not play politics. Yamaha has a right to hold him to somewhat of a length of time (if any of this even happens) but I think it would make for more bad press that would mostly fall in the blue crew's lap and the bike for him not wanting to race & it they wont let me ride blah blah........ had it all worked out from A1'ish he would be doing outdoors w/o a doubt........ "Family Time" comes to mind at this point.
IF Yamaha and James "offficially" parted ways at the end of supercross & assuming he rides a Suzuki, he should be more than capable of racing the outdoors by sitting out the rest of SX and do some light testing (hand injury?) Metty's or Dungeys settings would suffice as a baseline OR use the settings HE was using ALL last summer. If he is capable of doing the outdoors on a different bike and again sits out instead of racing the bike while setting it up to get just right, IMO it would be a dam shame. At this point there isnt a need to win right away if he is on a new bike, he just needs the fire to compete, could win outdoor nationals I think RV has everyone covered but he could easily nab some wins and be right there to build his confidence, sitting out MX (again) would be so disappointing I would have a hard time expecting anything special in SX 2013 if he doesnt get back to competing soon and consistently. The fast guy 1st-10th field is almost or will be 70% new racers given mostly his 2 years out and a lot of young guys stepping up bigtime!
No reason to debate his c'ships and stats but w/o any "bad choices" i.e. Lechin partying, Ive never witnessed a rider of his caliber so great just completely drop like he did, I mean he has flat out owned some of the greatest riders until 2010 then hasnt been the same, he won races but wasnt competitive as pre '10 James, bike or not something is out of place.
Either way, between Matthes and GuyB, there is a LOT of good info in this thread. Prior to this thread, in the back of my mind, I kept wondering how much of this whole shit-storm was just a vital-rumor spun out of control (Im thinking "wish fullfillment" due to the fact that so many WANT Bubba on a Suzuki).
But with the mysterious hand injury that never really was publicized, the ping tweet, sorby's tweets, and now Matthes and GuyB chiming in, there is definitely smoke. And where there is smoke....
And thankyou to OC as well for connecting a lot of dots for us.
Oh, and IMO, not racing the outdoors is a mistake.
