Ouch... That happened to me once... but it was just the riders bike laying right where I was going to land... it hurt and I was pissed at the flagger for not paying attention.

That happened to me once. Was running third racing to the finish at Mosier Valley and the finish line was right at the lip of a big tabletop and also where people would start to exit the track. A guy we were about to lap just rolled the finish line and decided to come to almost a complete stop as myself and another guy I was trying to pass went airborne. Scary shit, nothing you can do but pull the bike sideways and prepare to eject.....and cartwheel.

what happened to the other rider?

You could see that one coming. He must have been watching his front fender.

He almost cleared him.

Never, ever, follow another rider's line up the face of a jump. Always have an escape route.

If you are not going to do the jump get as far off to the side as possible!! What the hell was the rider in front thinking ... that the table top jump was put there for everyone to roll it?

LOOK AHEAD !!!! Ever heard that one??? Prolly the first thing I was taught as a toddler..

You could see very clearly there was a slower rider ahead (2 corners before the jump) and that he rolled the lip of that blind take-off.
