Compared to the rest of the world, they are great...compared to Trey, the Ryan's, James and Chad they have a ways to go....I won't knock ANYONE who can make a SX main event.

Part of winning/doing well in a series is not getting hurt. They don't give the number 1 plate to the guys that only finish a couple races for a reason.

Say what you want about them, they put in the effort and it's showing. Riders out or not, you have to line up to race to be considered a factor. No drama and good results, they might be on to something

And it's not like he was doing terrible when the others where still in the series. He was still kicking ass.

I just wish they'd cut out some of the BS, such as the starting gate deal, cutting the whoops at Daytona etc.

1st...Mike has still looked uncomfortable in the whoops but has powered on through them at about 3/4 to 7/8 speed of RV, RD, JS, CR...not excellent but a BIG improvement over the last couple of years...WTG Mike. I include myself in the list of people on this board who would simply look at a set of AMA Supercross whoops and say "Fook this shit". In the words of Dirty Harry..."a man's gotta know his limitations." Mike has found a way to get through them without losing too much time and finding more speed elsewhere on the track.
2nd...far too many people think if a rider isn't "on the box" that they should give up racing and go work at the Arches or the circus or something. I'm here to tell you that a scenario like that would be boring as hell to "hardcore" fans. If the keyboard jockeys were honest (the one's who still ride) they puff up like the Hindenburg if they beat a local hotshoe (even if the hotshoe has a mechanical)...so deriding a national caliber rider for finishing off the box is just plain silly.
3rd...Dirty riding, bad decisions, outside influences...There has never been a racer that I know of who hasn't found hisself accused of these things at some point in their career. These guys are human and shit happens...the closer to the front they are the more magnified everything is.
Bottom line...we are witnessing probably the highest display of dirt bike riding skill in history...even from the guys who finish 20th at an SX....be astonished, be entertained...or just be quiet. Rant out.

I've been a fan of Mike's for a number of years now, but what I can't understand is why he runs decent speed for a few laps after one of his holeshots and then gets passed by so many riders. I don't know if it was last week or the week before, but he got the holeshot and was riding great at the front. I was on my feet cheering for him, but as soon as he got passed by one guy, it became a steady stream moving right by. I know they train hard, I know they've been doing this for ages, so it's kinda hard to figure out. It would be great to see Mike get one of his patented holeshots and win one of these things one day. The only thing that makes it hard to cheer for the Alessis is that Bobby is such a ball-licker of theirs, they'd be better off around here without him in their corner.

So we can see Jeff do 4 laps and quit? I love Jeff but he needs to either get in shape or give it up. Having a hurt wrist before the season started is no excuse to only be able to do 4 laps.

Jeff has been improving every week. And he was hauling at Daytona before his bike quit. Being hurt is no excuse? your right I guess Chad,Ryan, James and Shorty have no excuse to be at home right now

If Jeff's that hurt stay at home. No injury is going to leave you in that bad of shape that you can't do more then 4 laps and then need to roll everything.

Pathetic performance tonight. Both of them. Go MX only or something. Like a 5-9 job. Yes. 5-9.

Mike will be.lucky to get a podium outdoors this year. RV, RD, JS, BT, JB, BM, are all better riders than 800. Mike rides behind him...look at how often he is looking back. At best hes a 4-6good Place rider.

Guy B is gonna have his hands full with the idiocy that is now on his forum.

I mean the old dogs fishin is one thing but idiots not understanding who the " real winner" is?

A hint might be that it's the guy that they wave the checkers at and make the fire pipes push fire up and if you were in the stadium you can feel the heat on your cheeks.......22 times its been RV. For real.

Only 7 times of those was stewart not onthe line so ......whatchasayin?

best line came from brotocross this week.

"Lap 8: The whoops look gnarly. Some people are pretty much just rolling through the first half of them. Those people are all named Mike Alessi."

As I said in another thread, with 4 of the big 5 out....there is some serious podium opportunities available to guys that wouldn't otherwise get a sniff of the podium (like Alessi), and-as ocscottie pointed out-the bonus money that goes with it.

And on the drama, I think the Alessi's finally got a set up they can work with...a team that provides bikes, transportation, and a pit....and then gets out of the way and lets the Alessi's do it how they want to do it. Factory teams aren't so hands off, and that causes Drama with the dad.

Yeah that 4th place by Mike was pretty flattering, but he should be about there every week really, not crawling round getting lapped by KDub and Weimer, maybe he'll do better this week but I have my doubts, outdoors he must be hoping for a lot more

Wow, Allessi's and * in the same thread? We just need a pinch of 2 vs. 4 and a dab of JLaw and this smells like HOF.

Minus the blatant track cutting at Daytona, trying to line up in the gate sideways, messing with Hansen during practice then running away and lying about it, taking out Tedesco then lying about it and a couple other things Tony and Mike have had a decent year.
I'm not far off agreeing with you.

It’s getting harder and harder for me to cheer for Mike as the obvious take out videos pile up; Grant last year, KW and others this year. Numerous others over the years as well.

I also agree to a certain extent about his results being tied to so many riders being out. Yes, you have to be in it to win it, but you also cannot pretend it has nothing to do with it. Like others have said, he would be barely breaking the top ten or worse any other year.

I think he is a great rider, I just wish he would ride cleaner and stay out of the drama more.

BROtocross ‏ @BROtocross
Definitely just got a fucking phone call from Tony Alessi. How he got my phone number is beyond me

BROtocross ‏ @BROtocross
He was uncomfortably friendly, invited BRO to the rig at the next race. Guess that has to happen now. This should be fun...
