Riders still make good start money from racing Belgian championship, or some Internationals.
The top riders in europe (I mean the Coppins, Philippaerts, Cairoli, De Dyckers, Strijbos and so on) are making more money than they ever did. Get your facts right.
The riders don't pay the 10,000, the teams do, and it's for things to make the paddock better, more proffesional. Some teams actually are really happy with the idea's.
If you don't know the full deal don't start on about it.

Are they things that get moved from track to track each week or are they permanent fixtures at each track? I can't see the teams willingly wanting to invest in improvements to specific tracks when those tracks may not be around long term.
It is easy for riders to say they didn't get paid and then go home without feeling like they quite.

Did people like Brown and others really get shilled in Europe like they do here in the states?
I always wanted to race the WC's and that was my main goal because that was where the best series was back in the day. These days are different it seems.
Generally, some riders WANT TO COME race in the USA from abroad.
Generally, NOT ONE RIDER from here WANTS to RACE IN EUROPE.

Also the US doesn't give it any media cover age if they covered the GPs as much as they do the US stuff and covered the US stuff ans little as they do the GPs the riders would be more educated about it and want to race them I think, like in your day. In contrast media around the world embrace the US stuff and see the glamour so riders from around the world want to go there... I would too!
I think that is slowly changing esp with the economy and the internet. Becasue bar JBS I dont think any US rider would have an easy time in the World Championship even RV would have it tougher against AC than he does in the nationals, that would be an awesome series...
The thing that struck me as odd regarding YS making a play for the US Nationals is that it doesn't need to in order to offer a premier series that supercedes even SX (unless controlling a competitor was a lower cost option). YS has the FIM rights to run GPs in countries around the world. There's nothing to stop YS from investing the money to take the sport to another level.

The real tier 1A guys, which probably number 10 or so total across all classes and series here and there, are going to haul ass anywhere and be on the very best equipment everywhere.
