Isnt part of the reason we ride is to push our selves to an edge knowing full well exactly what lies on the other side of that edge

I love the sport, I just hate that only a hand few actually make money at it. Most REALLY struggle.

I agree .The solution could be to replace bike racers with people that ride quad.They wont go as fast but no one will care about them if they get hurt because they are subhumans that dont count for much.

Oh, and FWIW, Dungey did prove that you can break your collarbone without a Leatt Brace. But anyone with half a brain could have told you that.
I have called Buydos.... we're getting the band back together and bringing the Pit Bike Nationals back as the Safety Series.

Surely this will quell the outcry over safety. Kardy please let Willy know so he can plan his comeback. Ping will be all over this idea.

But seriously...........
With a few notable exceptions (tuff block covers etc) we must accept the idea that racing has a danger element. I have not heard a racer say " I'm done...it's too dangerous to race SX". How would a change in tracks prevent most of this year's injuries ?? If those pesky bumps and ruts were eliminated Reed would'nt have crashed ??? That will make for some REALLY exciting racing.

I have spoken out in favor of neck braces (and have fit more braces on racers) than most others on here but to mandate neck braces, knee braces, chest protectors etc................NO WAY.

Encourage the use of safety equipment....of course. Assist in providing research on safety....absolutely. Provide the safest possible environment to race in....for sure. Take the danger out of racing..........well that just isn't racing anymore is it ??

I'm not sure why 'crfby' is getting so much abuse. As much as I enjoy watching supercross, I really HATE seing so many decent young men smashing their bodies in the name of entertaining the crowd. When was the last time a supercross championship outcome was not affected by injury to one of the leading riders? Everyone said how the field was soooo stacked this season - well it's looking pretty thin now. How is that O.K. with you guys?

Most of the people on here seem to think it doesn't matter what happens to these guys, hey, it's their choice. I recon indifference to other people's pain is the American way.

1. fuel injection
2. four strokes
3. neck braces
4. fox boots
5. yamaha 450s
6. honda 450s
7. gravity
8. disc brakes
9. linkage in the rear suspension
10. high gas prices

Use stock 450s for the privateer class...cheaper...cheaper...cheaper...100 guys going for 20 spots...better racing

Mega F1 style 250s for the champions and factories...raise the entry fee...less guys...more room...no lappers...better racing

shorten the start, keep the tracks the same layouts jumps and all

Oh and actually make west coast and east coast....why is dallas an east coast round? There are so many cities out east
Injuries are going to happen thats why this sport is so badass
