I see. So, a rider isn't shit until he starts winning in the big bores, right? That should include Alessi, because he not only hasn't won a single thing in the big bores, but he also lost the title twice to RV.

I wouldn't kick a one legged mans ass and I wouldn't jump on a 2 legged man unless I had a legal right to. You're to much a sissy to jump first, so what's it matter? c ya MXbuttsmackkid.

Villopoto was 1:05.552 ahead of second place in the second moto at the MXoN last year. Second place was on a 450 btw.

That guy should get the hard charger award every race. He rides hungry every lap, even during the timing sessions. Every moment seems to be a race to him. He kinda reminds me of a younger RC. I can't figure out where he loses the couple seconds to Stewart. It's not impossible for someone to do it. RC proved it year after year that someone can be faster than the Stew. Maybe Alessi can find it.

Oh, the night race thing was a great idea, from a fan's point of view. The weather was perfect. The lighting was awesome. For other places that have lower humidity, it works great.

And, it was nice to meet txmxer, his brother Mark, and Mark's son Caleb. Good people!
Yea down at the bottom before they started up toward the finish line turn. It was a tricky section that James and RV made look easy while 95% looked like they were struggling through.

After watching yesterday its going to take a lot of corner speed to run with james and RV next year.

Alessi is doing an awesome job....he's as far ahead of whoevers in 3rd or farther than James lead over him is.
The kid will continue to be a force as long as he stays healthy and does everything necessary to be a champion, being sick and tired of just coming short last year and possibly this year.
If Stewart makes it the whole season, it will still benefit Alessi big time.

Don't you guys think that Ryan villopoto will have to deal with Alessi before he can even be put in James' class? Mike isn't riding a KTM anymore.

I think the most impressive thing about MA is that he is not happy settling for second behind Bubba.

The same thing can not be said for the rest of the field.

It wasn't my point. It was yours. RV has fans, too, yanno. I guess they'll support him, even though he has "only" been dominating the lites class.

Scott, Stewart has crashed twice already and it hasn't helped Alessi at all. Granted those crashes were minor and he kept the bike running both times but Alessi needs to be close enough to capitalize on the crashes.

Stewart does things differently than the other riders and it does save him time. Watching High Poiont, Stewart was doing a wheelie through the whoops on Bradshaw Boulevard while everyone else was trying to jump through the section. Stewart was going a lot faster (or at least looked to be using less energy) while the jumpers seemed to flounder through (compared to Stewart)almost every lap.

I agree...which one of the two crashed? Which one of the two jumped and nearly landed off the track ending his season?

I want Alessi to win one but he's still coming across a little whiny in his interviews. How many times did he say the track was dangerous? I didn't see a track full of yard sales in the race I watched.

Short had the right attitude about night racing. I'd like to see him get up there and mix it up with Stewart.

I remember reading an article where Hannah said something like, "These kids these days all think they have arrived. They havent arrived at anything with some meaningless East-West coast title. Until you win a title in the 250cc class, you havent arrived or proved anything."

As recall this was an article around year 2000 in MXA titled 'Bob Hannah is Mad' - wish I could find that damn thing. Was some classic Buckwheat quotes in there.

Here’s MHO:

Alessi: He’s riding faster than ever. Right now, if not for JBS and RC’s history, he would be having the most dominating MX season ever. He was 30 seconds ahead of 3rd. Is he that much faster than last year? Or are the other guys just not willing to hang it out for 2nd? I think it’s a little of both. He’s definitely faster this year, but I don’t think most of the guys in the pack have as much heart is Alessi.

If JS goes SX only, and RV, BT and MA are on the track at the same time, we’ll see some amazing battles. RV is not what he was at the MXoN. Can he get it back? Don’t know. MA can hang with anybody on the track other than James (including RV).

James: He’s riding unreal. He can make time anywhere on the track. Is he riding under control? Yes. They all have little bumps and moments where they make a little mistake. The slide out? Please. That was nothing.

I do think he needs to stop putting his feet on the ground (in the slide out) and another time before the finish line. I know I’m a spode, this is just MHO. He’s risking knee injuries by putting his feet on the ground in the corners.
