The only part that was not replaced/reconditioned is the clutch basket, it has minor grooves in it, but rides fine.

Thats FRENCH for...I'm NOT letting my Hinson clutch be sold on e-bay...lol

Funny thing is that everyone knows, even the 2 stroke haters, that a 2001 YZ250F would not fetch $3000.00 no matter how nice it was.

Haha, you couldn't give me 3,000 to try to start one of those pigs everytime. That 01 250f is what soured me to 4 strokes. I had one, rode it for about 3 months and traded it for a roached 02 KX250 with a flattened pipe bent rims, gummed up power valve and still best trade I ever made.

An 09 is barely worth $3000.

Well, heck, for the 250Fs it's too many moving parts at a super high rpm. Most cars redline at 8000. The engine is the same and these things are making peak hp at like 11,500 to 12,000 rpms.

The '01 YZ is a bada-- motor, much less a 144.

Thanks guys, for the questions..
About the brake lever, etc. All colored parts are blasted and Powder Coated, no paint was used.

It is Jeremy Wendelken on the video at VMP.

And for the sale or market value, don't even try to compare it to a 'F'. Smokers hold value MUCH better than the F Bombs.

Thanks for the compliments guys, and for the ones talkin smack.. Keep it up, we love the page views. Smile

That 125 is nice.
I would proudly own and race it for sure. I am not the only one who thinks the YZ steel frames were the best handling of the YZ's. I have steel and alum frame YZ's in my garage now and the steely 125 will stay and the "more modern" alum will be sold soon. when I buy a new 125 and 250 it will not be the current framed YZ's. I am looking at the Ktm for a 250 and possibly the husky 125 from what I have ridden and seen lately from these companies.

No comparison here to an F for sure. The person who buys this bike could overpay for it and still have a cheap season of racing. Buy this basically new bike and grab a spare $100 piston kit and race for the year. Still ahead in the end. A free 3 year old 250F would still cost more to race for a season.

Even Grieby would admit that no 2001 model YZ250F is worth $2500.00 let alone $3000.00. I'll bet even my 2001 YZ250F with all its mag, ti and carbon would be a hard sale at those numbers.

That bike may have all new parts, and a bunch of trick stuff, but its not worth the sum of its parts. Its worth $1800 tops. And dont call me a two stroke hater either, my main bike is a '99 YZ125, great bike, just not worth much.

No, it's worth $1800 tops to you.

The bidding is over $3000.00 right now, so I would say that, to someone, the bike is worth more than you think.

Lots of shit sells for twice what its worth on eBay, just because two idiots try to outbid one another does not mean thats what an item is actually worth. Hell, I see people bid more than the retail price for stuff they could go to a dealership and order over the counter full pop.

I bought an 03 YZ125 and have about 2600 total in the purchase price and parts over a few years. Best money and most fun racing I ever had. I bought it for funnin and ended up parking the 450 so I could quit being bored at MX races. There won't never not be nothing no more fun than passing a 450 on a 125.

honestly, this bike is probably BETTER than new as it has all the trick parts and was went through (greased bearings, top end, etc)

for real....think about it like this

you can go to a dealership and drop 8K or whatever a new 250F costs, then you gotta bring it home and take it apart to properly grease it..then change the oil & filter every ride and keep the valves in check, worry about it exploding and costing you another 3K to fix...

or you could buy this bike for $2500 and ride it all year round..depending how fast or how much you ride it, you can adjust your maintenance budget accordingly

if you're a weekend rider you could easily make a top end last more than a year and change the oil every 2-3 rides or whatever...

if you're actually fast this bike would be a better deal, 2-stroke consumables are cheaper than thumpers

Your point being what exactly?Anything is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it.If a seller sets his price, and buyers are willing to pay it,it's worth it.
If you don't think it is then the trick would be not to bid on itSmile
