I actually thought James looked good tonight ; A very solid ride. Even though he got third he was actually gaining on Villo for second until he had to roll the triple. Congratulations to Dungey!! It's good that he won so that the series can remain interesting. : )

He was totally gaining on RV until the accident. He basically had 1+ second faster lap time getting through traffic. He's still got it. Can't wait for CR22 and DV12 to shoot him down..............

He looked much better this week, but he needs to work on those starts and get out of trouble quick.

I agree James looked very fast the first half of the race, but after he was forced to roll the triple he was some 5-7 seconds behind RV so I think he did the right thing at that point.

I agree he looked pretty good and stayed off the ground. I think it's good for him if he can just keep staying on the podium and stuff after bad starts.

He's going to have to come to terms with the fact that he's not the fastest anymore. If he just keeps it off the ground works on the bike, and rides the nationals this summer, he can think about the SX title next year. Maybe even get some more wins this season, if things start clicking. Being humbled the way he has been this season, isn't a bad thing if he handles it the right way.

At this point, just keep the rubber side down and start building.

James still has it. The things that are missing aren't skill level things. He's not nearly as pressed to pass right away. He takes his time more. The move that he put on Sealy was one of the times that he pressed like the old James, but he only did it because he had to. There were plenty of other times that he could have pressed, but he didn't. If he could have looked this good all year he would be pressing RV for the points lead. That's just MHO.

What???? I agree James looked very good tonight (I predicted he would take the win tonight after seeing him in practice) and he was catching RV for a couple of laps thus closing the gap. I loved seeing the charge out of him. But regarding "he was still the fastest of the night" that just isn't an accurate statement - RD won the race and RV had the fastest lap of the night (in practice, in the heats, and in the main). I think there are a lot of very positive things to say about James tonight, but saying "he was still the fastest of the night" is not one of them (and please don't blame it on RV jumping on the red light OR the JGR bike...).

James did look good. He just needs to start up front and of course not crash. If he starts up front it will be very hard to beat him.

Bahahahahaha......no he wasn't

RV - fastest lap on lap 12 of the main - 50.71
JS - fastest lap on lap 15 of the main - 51.07
RD - fastest lap on lap 20 of the main - 51.25

James definitely looked great but let's stick to the facts.

Nice to see JS ride to his potential. Now if he could just get a start.

I think he looked good tonight and to be fair he recovered fast and made a good run at the top two. But those starts are killing him. They are killing his championship race by race. I would guess that James has got so caught up in the general bike set-up these past few weeks - he hasn't had time to think much about starts or being able to set-up anything specifically in that direction. He's in a points deficit due to crashing, that's true. But joined at the hip with that problem and equally as damaging are his abominable starts.

James should do nothing but work on starts this week.... starts, starts, starts and then more starts. Being fastest by a few tenths is almost unimportant, it really doesn't matter without a decent start. RD and RV are too good for any sort of weakness, especially a critical handicap like that. He can't afford that crap these days. This isn't 2007 where he could just jump into warp speed, blow by everyone and make it all up. Edit: In fairness I know the run in with Weimer was costly.... Imo I would say costly in LA but there you go, what's done is done. I guess they're square now.

Davi rode great. very aggressive and determined out there. He has the talent to run with the big three and is getting close.

Stewart looked good, some great lines and jump combos, definitelty more comfortable... but he still isn't putting all the pieces of the puzzle together. Was looking forward to the RV Stewart battle though.

Stew is in a position where he has to beat those guys now though...he as to ride that fast to have a chance of the title, but that means he is riding the edge every week to do it. 44 points down is a long way back.

Stewart rode well tonight, they made a lot of progress but I think at this point it's only for pride he's just way to far back to be considered a title contender, especially considering the consistency of the Ryans. At least he has a lot of pride and will still push for wins to make it exciting. This season started out so exciting and now we're down to 2 guys that still have a chance at the title.

James rode great. When he moved into 3rd, I truly thought he was going to track the leaders down. The fact that he couldn't do that triple (downed rider on the landing of that triple) screwed him. He never seemed to recover from that. Jumping that "dragon's back" earlier in the night was insane...as was the Prince intro. Laughing

Yes James looked really good last night. Its hard to believe he is 40 something points behind. So when he starts winning next week ( I know I say that every week) everyone will say RV doesnt have to beat him for the title....but RV doesn't race to get 2nd place

JGR did their jobs last night and that obviously includes the effort Perrelli brought, it was a win for the team. Stewart stayed off the ground and raced hard. If he had the start I'm sure he could have won it all but Dungee handled that.
Stewart should get another soon, he and Davey both looked good on that dirt.

1) I thought James looked great for most of the night (fans of great racing need this to be more than a 2 horse series) 2) The pass on Seely was awesome! 3) Him getting the red cross flag sucked for him and fans of good racing (me) 4) I do have to fairly point out that while James was catching RV from about lap 7 to lap 10 (most of which came when RV fell over), but JS got caught behind Cole for a few laps and thus let RV stretch the lead back out to over 5 seconds PRIOR to "flashgate". Saying he would have for sure caught RV and passed him is extremely assumptive. James rode really strong, but I think it is very wrong to claim he would have got second or even first in that race. I'm rooting for good racing the rest of the way along with an interesting points battle.

JS closed on RV on lap 8 when RV went down.
JS lost time to RV the 2 laps before rolling that section. And he only lost about 2.8 seconds rolling it on lap 13.
JS finished about 17 seconds behind RV.

James was fast and looking good, but not fast enough to close on the leaders. I hope(and expect) we see a 3 way battle in the coming races.

The only reason James isn't in the points lead right now is because of bad starts and that POS Yamaha.

Yeah he never crashed on the kaw.... The only reason he is not in the points lead is because there are 3 other riders that are way more consistant than James. Ok 2 other riders

I was at the race and I think that if James didn't have to roll that jump he would have been right on RV because he closed a big gap until that point. I also think that everybody looked good and every time I watch them ride I am in amazement at what they can do on a motorcycle.
