^^^^ Very true, Powermoves. A lot of misinformation in this thread. I don't remember seeing "WARNING" threads about the Oakland SX. Guess all hotels in Oakland are safe to park a trailer. Or, just hating on a southeast venue that sells out every freaking year.

For those really interested in low crime areas near the Ga Dome, check out the hotels near I-85/N Druid Hills. Or, stay in one of the many surrounding nice hotels with security cameras in gated parking areas. A good rule of thumb for any city: If you can see and access your room door from the parking lot, then, bring your tools and bikes into the room. Done that one many times.

Above all, go to The Cheetah on Spring St. Leave your GF or wife to guard your bike(s).
The fact is there are lots of bikes/vans/trailers stolen EVERY year in ATL. No mis information in that, just the facts. Thats why the warning, as far as all the rest, don't know, haven't lived in Georgia in over 16 years......

They sell more tickets in ATL than any other race in the entire series, central location in the south with tons of riders within driving distance.....

The central southern location is bad for the scum bags that come into town just to go from hotel to hotel looking for a van or truck and trailer with Fox/Pro Circuit/Thor/FMF/and so on plastered all over it. I know we all like to advertise that we moto but this is a bad place for it.....

Sniping the dirtbags? Excessive to say the least, prison time (not if) WHEN they catch you.....with a bunch of the deceased scum's buddys that will know exactly who you are and what you are in for.....

Sting operation? Great idea as long as you have a 4 to 5 man team willing to set up for the night, risky but only moderatly as most of the low lives aren't prepared to handle a well planned trap. It would be cake, what the judge does with them is a different story.....

Smart post and apologies to 35sMom. As an Atlanta native, it's sickening that bike and trailer theft mar this venue. Any hotel proprietor is complicit in the crime if they sell a "secure area" without providing contracted service. The areas around the Ga Dome are the absolute worst in the city while there are so many more hospitable places to stay.

Here's a novel idea: Why don't the promoters sack up, spend some of that money they're making this year (cause they are making a lot of it) and get proper security for where the privateers are pitted at. I know Feld or the AMA doesn't give a s--t about them but lets face it: someone needs to look out for them once in awhile. It'd be nice if they could provide them resources such as that so they don't have to worry about some asshole stealing their s--t while they're on the racetrack.
ain't it the shits that so many of you could have helped out the Warthog team and they would still be around and somewhere between 10 and 16 privateers would be in that rig and there would be just that much less of a chance of a bike getting stolen.

What does liberalism have to do with bike theft? Is that a new Obama party platform that Drudge hasn't posted about yet? Retards buy into petty, bitchy party politics. You are part of the reason this country is going down the shitter.
