Oh yeah.....so sad the used ones are so hard to find without a cracked frame.

Check closely for the re-welds. They are just not made strong enough for 7 and a half year olds.

And the sticky throttles?

Make sure your kid can ride before putting him on a used bike. I mean really, know how to ride. So when it get's stuck wide open he can slow it down.

One mans trash is another man's treasure in old school mustangs.

In the cobra world it's just another kids junk.

But if ya want to compete, ya gotta buy their bikes.

But if you are buying used...you are just not ready for the real pace.

The frames are not an issue on the Cobra......that is justy knowitalloveragain's way to get in a swipe at the age structure for LL's 50 class.

I have been friends with a number of racing families and watched hundreds of races with Cobra 50's and I have only seen 1 frame break.
That was after a rider went off the side of the track on a steep downhill.

Whether your kids run Cobra's or KTM's Polini's or whatever if they are pushing the engines they are going to blow up bikes. Actually it is more likely to burn out clutches than anything else.

If you buy then used count on them having been worked and go through them accordingly.

He has a lot of good info on Cobra's in the general New England area.
