Dungey

I give them props for making that bike as good as it is. Here is my question! Is it just me or does it look slightly under powered. I mean not by much he ripped the hole shot and one the main event lol. But other times when we see him in the pack it looks like the enitial hit on the throttle is a little off compared to the other factory 450. When they go from slow to slamming the throttle it looks a little sluggish. Let me know what you think!

I don't think that's the bike, i think Dungey just doesn't twist it as hard.

You could be right. I watched both races a few times and it just looked like he was loosing a little time in the 0- to full throttle zones. Specially after whoops into a triple. Either way its not much

Yeah, i think it's just his lack of aggression.

It appears to me he is not as agressive ripping it around corners as he was on the Suk thus making it look underpowered since he is not getting on the gas as quickly.

After the first turn in the main it looked as if Dungey was shot out of a slingshot comapred to the other riders. He was at the end of the first rhythm section while the pack was making the first turn. The Speed Channel cameras caught it and I thought to myself that is the fastest I have seen a gap get pulled.

Yeah a agree. He held momentum all the way. I was talking about the stop to full throttle zones out on the track. But either way he looks good just a little something that cought my eye

I think it is more of the fact that RD likes to manage the throttle a little more on this bike than he did his suzuki. It all depends on where the have the power set up on that bike.....seems to be really strong on the bottom and mid-range. Maybe the Suzuki liked it better on top coming out of the mid-range? Either way......I don't think he looks as smooth on this KTM....yet! But he looks better every time I see him and about 100X better than what I saw of him at the MEC race. They're getting it dialed.

IMO he's really focused on being smooth, keeping a good flow & consistency. It's leading to a little lack of aggression, something that's followed him his entire career (maybe just a little more so now). Give him a bit more time on the bike, as the finish line of the Championship comes near, I think he'll get a bit more assertive.

Where you not listening to the G.O.A.T and FRO before the gate dropped and they both mentioned if someone pulled the holeshot and kept there momentum and cleared the triple, triple coming out of the first turn I believe the rythem was you could pull a nice gap. Was not the machine but strategy...

I think Dungey is just so fluid and smooth that people mistake it for not being aggressive, or an underpowered bike. Maybe his throttle control is impeccable.

Your avatar pleases me.

I don't think Dungey was pushing as hard as he could. Knowing he had a manageable lead and given that several people tucked the front tire in some of the corners earlier, I'm sure he took more caution than if someone were right on his heels. I noticed he was riding the wider line in a lot of sections that other riders were cutting down on.
