MiniMoto is actually back at the Orleans this year, and it's been moved to Sunday!
Lots of industry guys stay at Mandalay Bay for the SX.
Hard Rock is the host hotel and www.SupercrossOnline.com has discounted rooms available now.

I've stayed in most of them but I feel like I'm at HOME in the Golden Nugget. Its a very nice place to stay and there is
always something going on at the Freemont street experience...just step outside the Nugget and you're in the mix.

Don't leave Vegas without trying the buffet at the Rio.

Hilton buffet is really good. No idea how much it costs, it was comped.

Staying downtown isn't so bad, they have buses that run the length of the strip 24/7 and seven bucks gets you unlimited rides.

Hahaha..I bet you could get a free pass to the bunny ranch and find something to complain about.

I love eating at the Rio...matter of fact its a must-do every time we go to Vegas.Sad that you think
it sucked.

"Recognized as the best buffet in Las Vegas" year after year by guests and critics alike, the Carnival World Buffet @ The Rio has raised the bar in buffet dining once again, offering more variety in food choices (more than 300 dishes prepared fresh daily) and a new contemporary design that make the best buffet in Vegas even better.

I guess I'm not the only one who likes it.

First, you're wrong, I don't look for fault in everything and if you actually read this thread I was quite complementary about some of the places in Las Vegas

Second, I was not alone, I was there with sc931 (think that's scott's number) and his wife, they agreed
I will concede a place can have an off-night and maybe I was (un)lucky enough to be there on one of those nights, but for that night, it sucked

If you want to be closer to the stadium, and are not into the whole strip crowd drama, Green Valley Resort is a very nice place with plenty of amenities withing walking distance, and easy freeway and airport access. Just off the 215 south of the airport and strip.

We went on a family week trip after Christmas. Green Valley was beautiful, clean (only a few years old), had numerous pools and restaurants, plus it was adjacent to some shopping district that my wife spent way too much time and money visiting. I guess that was to off-set the too much time I spent in the casino....
GVR opened in 2001, it's 10+ years old. The District is the shopping area that connects to the property, food, shopping, living, etc. Nice property and area for sure, close to Sam Boyd Stadium for SX and close to the airport, Sunset Station hotel/casino is close as well, same owners. However, the strip is THE STRIP, pick your poison.

Staying at tropicana due to location and good price...
Now the real question how do you get back after the race before 4am?

The Cosmo is one of my favorite hotels on the strip. It's very modern and flashy and they have the best buffet out there, it's called the wicked spoon buffet. You NEED to try it, it's way better than the world buffet at the Rio.

The Cosmo crushed both the Palms and Hard Rock when it opened. Last year Rehab was managed by AMG and it lost its luster. The pool parties to hit are Marquee, Encore Beach Club, and Wet Republic. The night clubs to hit: Marquee, XS, Tyrst, Hyde, Surrender.

Cool things to see: http://www.neonmuseum.org/, http://www.redrockcanyonlv.org/index.html, http://themobmuseum.org/

The closest hotels are on the Boulder Strip such as Eastside Cannery and Sam's Town. I WOULD NOT stay on the Boulder Strip. Not a safe area.

Restaurants: Piero's (http://www.pieroscuisine.com/ last of old school Vegas. Any given night you are sitting next to casino executives, wise guys, show girls, Vegas movers and shakers, athletes), Andre's in Monte Carlo, Milo's in Cosmo, Ferraro's (later night across Hard Rock), Le Cirque and Picasso in Bellagio.

Bellagio defines luxury. Wynn defines elegance and refinement. City Center defines modern, chic, green.

Look at the events at MGM Grand, Mandalay. They always have concerts. One other note: Shows. Heard Michael Jackson was awesome. Love is great. Elvis Average. Of course the classics, O and Le reve are killing it too.

It's a beautiful hotel.
Never stayed, but I am sure a room is a room, but keep in mind, unless you pay for it, you will not get a fountain view, and I have been told it is worth it. The music and a video of the water show is played live on your TV, so you can watch and listen out the window.

If you're on the back side, you're looking at a parking lot and freeway

Fuck, I could not remember the number in your username last night....fucking brain damage....

That night we were there, that buffet sucked. We all agreed
I even said to you at that time it was much better the time before
Bad night? No idea, must've been

Seafood buffet is better (Rio has two buffets)

Won't hear me bashing Harrah's/Caesars, they take good care of me, so does MGM, but HET/CET take much better care of players

Happens to me all the time.. More since I turned 50.. Normally the Rio is better, but it sucked that night..

Harrahs is great for the food. Best buffet is probably Planet Hollywood, but Paris ranks right up there too.

They have a 24 hour food pass. There are 7 or 8 casino's participating. You can go to any of those buffett's inside those 24 hours for $44.95 or something like that.

If you get the pass around 10am, you can squeak 4 trips through easily...

I had the bloated stomach to prove it..

Not done Spice Buffet at PH, but do like Paris buffet, especially for breakfast
I asked my host to put me up in PH on my next trip out, so I will try their rooms and buffet

As for the buffet pass, no way in hell I could eat my money's worth

i have to agree with you, while the last 2 times out there we were not on Freemont, we stayed at the Rivera and it was fine and cheap.........then we took a free shuttle to a casino out closer to the track and then hopped a cab from there. Then at the end of the night there was lines of shuttle to take you back to the strip..........$20 a head they were making a killing....but better than a whiskey ticket for sure.

But the Riv isn't on Freemont, it's at the North end of the strip

If you want a cool old vegas feel, the Riv will do it.
I think they just did a refurb on it. The owners have vowed to keep it in that old school feel and not modernize
That's why many old school style Vegas movies are shot there.
The movie "Casino," while about the Stardust that was across the street, was mostly shot in the Riv.
The big gun fight scene in 3000 Miles to Graceland, was shot in the Riv

It's old school, and they like it that way

It's at the back of the hotel in their stupid, swanky shopping center - on the strip.

Try to collect as many porn-cards from strange Central and Southern American people with fantabulous sunglasses -

as you can. Don't be arrogant, receive them with pride. They will hand you them as you stroll the strip.
It is your duty as a man in las vegas to collect as many porn cards as possible

I wish I would have been around to see the maids face. First year I collected a bunch and they fell out of a rascal scooter, old man next to me looks over and says "Son, your losing your ladies." I about lost it

For the night club type: Cosmo LV is killing it Palms and Hard Rock. The Marquee Day Club, Wet Republic, and Encore Beach Club all are better than Rehab. The Cosmo's F&B revenue is off the charts.... its casino revenue.... not so good (tells you your market). Nightclubs: hakkasan, XS, Marquee, Tyrst.... NOT one in Hard Rock

Wynn Las Vegas, Encore, Bellagio.... in my opinion, best luxury resorts in Vegas. If you are going to be in the room to sleep and shower only.... don't waste your money..... check out SLS (opening... I think rooms will be nice and cheap).

Restaurant: Milos in Cosmo, Holstein is Cosmo, Sinatra in Wynn, Lakeside in Wynn, Picasso in Bellagio, Andrea's in Wynn, Andre's in Monte Carlo, Piero's on Paradise and Convention Center Drive.

Good call EID.... Riv is last of 70's and 80's casino.

I stay at New York New York or the Mirage. They are both nice and can be expensive. Stayed at Treasure Island back before they changed the image and started calling it TI.

Staying at the Wynn,we went through to the Encore and both agreed we made the right choice,it's classy, the Buffet there is incredible,it's in the higher price range but it depends whatever you're after really
