Some might know Kuroudo Toda, Team Suzuki Japan who raced some races in US before. He got in an accident yesterday June 18th., practicing in Fujisawa Sportsland in Japan. One amateur rider got killed while Toda remains unconscious.

There are no information other than a short newspaper article, but it said Toda hit the other rider from behind over blind jump. Not sure if there was a flagger or not, but usually there are no flagger at MX tracks here other than at race.

There is All Japan race at this track next month, Toda might have been testing with the team. maybe not. I just saw him at local track a week ago, driving up by himself. He was saying that he just got a new practice bike and his new RMZ450 is very good compare to last model....

I pray for the amateur rider and his family, and wish Toda full and speedy recovery.

Man, bummer. Yeah, safety never seemed like as big of a concern in Japan to me.

You are right, FGR. MX Track safety standard is pretty low in Japan compare to tracks I've been in US.
It's good that we aren't society that sues people for anything, but that makes it hard for track owners to even think about spending extra cash on necessity such as hireling flaggers.

I've read on one of the mx board that Toda regain consciousness today.

Toda seems to have damaged about the fourth spines. Consideration has recovered in a
hemiplegic situation now.
