I think RV caught James off guard just like RC did to MC in 2001.

Maybe Coy is a bit starstruck by JS7 and is afraid to put his nuts to the bandsaw.

it is very odd that he didn't test in California though. Unsure

At least he found a way to catch and pass people in front of him and didn't whine about the track being so bad that he had motivation issues just to ride the track. Stewart is and always has been Stewart, rides hard and tries hard to get to the front even if it means he makes mistakes along the way.

James is who he is. Tires had nothing to do with anything. You can practice as much as you want, but racing is different. He hasn't raced in a long time, and hasn't experienced the feel of these young fast guys coming up. It's different now. He will pick it up,and be in the game, but if he doesn't win the title, he will retire. It's the Rocky scene, they are hungry, he has the glory and the money. It's more work for him to win now. He will be gone soon, and the next generation will prevail, until their next generation lines up at the start gate. Say anything you want, but Ricky played every game that he could, and prevailed, no excuses, supercross or motocross. That's why he will be remembered. I think James will be remembered as a fast guy that no one can think of. He won't be in the same class as McGrath or Ricky.

Why is this only about James?

Everyone has been through this party before - hell JBone as long as Stewart.

If the team didn't test, isn't that on the team?

Who knows how it went down but if stewie said I know the dirt out in cali so let's just keep the testing out here where I can drive my lambo around and be a baller who's going to stand up to him? Coy practically followed him around for a month trying to get him to sign with jgr so he's likely not in a position to tell him where to test..

Maybe Coy is a bit starstruck by JS7 and is afraid to put his nuts to the bandsaw.
When he started JGRMX, he said that he wanted all of his riders to live near the team's facilitty in Mooresville, and that if a rider didn't want to make the move, then that rider could seek other employment. Now with James, not only does he still live in FL, but the team travels to him. So, yeah I think so.

Very interesting point. I agree with Bronson.

IMO, Stewart just isn't the best rider anymore. Be it injuries and sitting out, or whatever, he's not still winning for the same reason Roger DeCoster isn't still winning: there are younger, faster guys out there. And this tire crap is a stupid argument.

Stewart might not be better than the others at every race, but I still think he's going to have some convincing wins this year. I like him and will continue to even if he keeps losing.

this must be the 'noobs' thread? so ill give you a little insight on 'who' stewie 'thinks' he is. in an article back in 04, i think, after the SX season, right before he went to the big boy MX class. RC went 34-0 the season before and stewie says "Aint gonna be no 34-0 this season!" he had never raced the 450 class!! stewie is a legend in his own mind. yeah. he might win a race or two this season, but not the championship. and whats this about how he is going to dethrone the King himself with more than 72 wins?? dude!

RV said "If I lose it's not because I was unprepared. I left no stone unturned"

Definition of "no stone unturned" - Make every possible effort, use every possible source or resource.

I don't think James has left "no stone unturned" since he turned pro.JMO

RC did it in 2001 and now I think RV is there.

That was the point of my post!
