I will say it again.... POWER SEAL!!!!!!! Since they are right down the road from you and actually know what they are talking about, and can actually take a look at it, (unlike us here on a forum) they would probably be your best bet. As for the blue moon, I work at Dogfish head and you can keep that blue moon shit lol, j/k

Anyone think a small piece of aluminum (ie bottom of coke can) molded over the whole and jb welded around it then a thin layer over the whole thing will work?

Any other suggestions?

** $50 to person that comes up with idea that works*** Not a joke, i will send you 50 cash or a 2 cases of Blue Moon.
I guess you don't want to take the advise that, while it will fix the problem properly, is too expensive for you. If you do a $10 job, you're going to get a $10 repair. If it was a simple hole in the case, no problem. Epoxy is more than sufficient. I've done many myself and they work. Your problem is not that simple. You have a rotating (not much, but it still has to move freely) shaft connected to a critical engine component that is now exposed because of the hole, not to mention the "bearing" surface is damaged and partially missing and a proper fix is essential to the health and longevity of your engine. And lets not forget about cracking. I can tell by just looking at the picture that that case is going to crack from vibration and or side load from the shaft, epoxy or not.

Hell, you may get lucky and your cheap fix will last for years......on the other hand the alternative isn't so good.Good luck my friend, you're going to need it!

Cut a 'patch' from an aluminum can and JB Weld the patch over the hole. You cannot apply liquid weld directly to the area or you'll effectively weld the clutch rod into place.

I've seen beer can/JB Weld repairs like this hold up forever.
And you win the 50 bucks or beer. Ill take photos later today. Cut out a circle from the bottom of a pb-blaster can. formed it over the hole and it fits perfect.

I've done the JB fix on a hole with shaft from a chain carrying a rock and it held from 2003 until the bike was sold in '09. I don't remember what i used for the base, filler to keep JB from the shaft, but never had any issues. I only did the JB thing after exhausting all other options with a very short time constraint for repair. The JB was to be a band-aid fix and ended up being the permanant fix because there where no adverse issues. This was the second time using this method, the first a ghost ridden bike came off the track, through the pits and knocked a new yz400 off the stand and punched a hole in the ignition side case. This was at a 4stroke national and the rider was putting his boots on to head to the line. Pro motos started on a scheduled time, there was no tome to waste. I cleaned the hole with carb cleaner, covered the hole with duct tape, smeared JB Qwik all aver the case, fired up the generator, took a heat gun and boiled the JB, WAALAA(sp) the bike was on the line not long after the rider. That patch is still there.
