Okay, a little off the topic but I have a question for those of you who ride wooded single track hare scrambles. What lense works best for going in and out of trees on a sunny day (the afternoon glare really cuts the visibility)? I acknowledge being older and wearing hard contacts does not help. If the track does not have trees I simply wear any tinted lense and life is fine. Who is a goggle expert out there...?

You need someone that rides and races Washougal.

As you know, most of the tracks I race on are in the shade very seldom. I always run clear lenses.
I just close my eyes when it gets too bright.Laughing

Good point Jim...Washougal is like a wooded hare scrambles (not to mention the best race food of all the pro mx tracks)!!!!

I use an Amber colored lense. What you want is a lense that will give you a shooting glasses effect. Anything to take the UV out of the picuture and to sharpen up the edges.

I use persimmon for everything but very dark conditions. Then clear.

amber might be too bright, if you want more defination for ruts in the shade, try blue or light brown.

Scott still makes the grey-gradient. It fades from tinted at the top to clear at the bottom. Might be an option since when you are in single track in the woods you are usually looking down pretty close in front of the bike.

Also, some companies have the photo-sensitive lenses that darken in the light. I kinda doubt they change fast enough though.

I really like the Scott Amp Rose lens. Try em all though and see what works best for you.
