about pro sx/mx circuit ?

personally i'd

#1 chang a couple of the tracks on the outdoor circuit # 1 take away lake wood and add a coule more sand Tracks
#2 add a 125 two stroke race to the intermission in both sx and mx , of course they would probably sell less Hotdogs Smile
#3 take away timed qualifying and bring back the semi's more sx is good
#4 take some money from ticket sales and pay every rider that qualifies for the night show

and you ?

The points system in both MX and SX.

You would earn points for:

Leading a Lap - 1 point
Leading the most laps - 3 points
Fastest qualifying time - 2 points
Holeshot - 2 points

However, Gate picks would be reversed. Slowest gets first pick and fastest gets last.

ooh, I like the gate pick idea.

I'd replace the current AMA officials with people who care about the sport.

The Mickey Thompson Series tried the reverse gate pick back in the day. The only thing it accomplished was getting the fast guys to ride slow so they'd get a good starting position.

Your number 4 already happens in SX, not MX though.
One thing I would change is allow 250 2 strokes to race against 250fs.
I like the idea of the semi qualis again.
I also liked the old format of the Nationals, where there would be qualifiers on sat then more sunday before the races. But I do like the saturday nationals better.

dont really care about the semis, on live tv it is boring but do agree that at the races it adds to the entertainment. the one thing i wish they would do is have afternoon qualifiers instead of practice times. Some of the best racing was always in the afternoon and allowed us to see how the track would race before the night show.

do wish they would increase race winnings. btwn tv packages and sponsors this could be done, but for some reason the powers that be wont do anything about it. the only way that it will ever change is if they get a union like in the stick and ball sports.

yes, and Rick Johnson stood on the podium in a "Life's a Beach" shirt in front of a full stadium and called them all out.

But when you offer series points for being fastest qualifier, it takes away that incentive to sandbag for gate pick

I agree with all of the above.

I also think the series' as a whole is fine, except for a couple minor tweaks....
I'd alter the points as listed above
There would be no East/West in the 250's
I'd change class names to SX1 and SX2
I would offer a 125cc intermission race, no championship, no series and no one can race more than two events.
The timed qualifying is fine, other than the fact there is no way to keep track of it as a spectator. There needs to be timing pylons placed throughout the outdoor tracks so the spectators know who is where. Right now, it just looks like a practice session and no one knows who is where or what the hell is going on. The people need data. Need scoring pylons.
I also think both SX and MX need to work a way, either by a local network wifi server at the facility, a way to make smartphones useful with live timing and scoring.

Fopr the love of god, get rid of the term "lites" its retarted and insulting. If you're gonna ram overweight, unworkable pigs down the throat of the public call them what they are. The 250 and 450 class

I like the points system-not so much the gate picks. The slow guys know they are not going to get into the top 10 just based off lap times. They would just get in the way and it would be sketchy.

1 - Increase the purse for everyone who makes the main, these guys dont get paid DICK, even if you win.

2 - Drop one of the Anaheims and move it to NYC, Boston or PHILLY.. ..no reason why the northeast shouldn't have atleast ONE supercross race.

3- A national in the Southeast!! Dont drop any of the PA rounds either, get rid of one of the California rounds!!

4. I wouldnt change the displacement rule either, but I would get rid of the leadded fuel law or whatever it is...this is what killed 2-strokes, not the 4-stroke displacement advantage IMO

Retarted: When something is so messed up and backward that to describe it as retarded isn't enough. You have to retard the word retard to express how retarded it is.
