I have a 2004 cr 250 and im curious on what you guys are running on your rebound settings. I have pro action suspension and weight about 180 or so with all my gear on. Im running 10 clicks out from all the way hard on my forks and 11 out from all the way hard on my rear suspension.

I'm running 6 clicks from all the way in on my 08 YZ 450 and a similar setting on my 06 yz250 2-smoker. I recently started to adding more rebound dap..noticed big help with cornering. Found a great article that talk about rebound..I can post if you would like? Also, you can't run setting from a shop (as stated above)...they aren't you and they will tell you to adjust them to your liking. There is no one clicker setting for everyone...despite what the manual may say!

6 clicks on forks and rear shock? Yeah man, I would appreciate it. Im in the dark when it comes to knowing how to set up suspension. I can rebuild forks and put different springs and stuff, i've just never messed with suspension. Im just trying to see how people like there rebound. How does the 6 clicks do off jumps and woops? is it too responsive?

I will send you the link. The thing to remember with rebound damping is that the more clicks in the more the damping...meaning slower rebounding....the less damping(less clicks in)....the faster the forks rebound at you. It is the opposite of what you would think. So for me, adding rebound damping slowed the forks down and made them work in the whoops better...they ride on top and with less bouncing back. I use to run it with less rebound damping (like your settings) and it caused me to turn poorly and was a handleful in the whoops. Rebound has a lot to do with cornerning...more damping can help cornering as well. Let me know if I can answer anything else...I have done a lot of research how to get a good setup. A lot of people have their own veiws on suspension setup...kinda like politics! The articile will help.

a slower rider uses more rebound (less clicks out) damping than a fast rider.....its all about the suspension coming back out (rebounding) before the next bump.....so it does not pack. A faster rider gets the the next bump faster so they will need less damping.

Asking what others are using is not the best advise unless they are the same speed.....test for your self.

I totally agree...that is the reason why I need a lot of damping! I don't think theirs anything wrong with asking other people questions though. It helps get a mental picture of what to try instead of working in the dark. That's how we learn. I have a hard time with super fast guys because they don't get it that some of us are trying to learn and not just being a pain.
