Grant is a punk. Straight up. He always runs his mouth and tries to intimidate people but he is a crybaby when shit gets out of hand.

I have no respect for him at all. There has to be more to this then what was shown on the video though so who knows what the real deal is.

Was looking forward to seeing Grants dad kick that kids dads ass. Why get involved like that!

Also did I miss something. Is Grant not suppose to be riding a Honda for LB/MC???

I agree with everything you said in the first paragraph.

But..............

I think this video is very clear that Grant did not instigate this fight. Could he have walked away and kept his mouth shut? Of course but he's Josh Grant.

Well reading what a few wrote about him pulling up right next to him after Savage had lined up explained some of it. Either way Grant and Savage were fighting at a meaningless race. It gets Grant no points in a championship or any money in his bank account so is it really worth it? Its suppose to be a fun day and some riding with your friends. No need to be a tough guy if you really are that much faster then him.

It seems like Grant is always in the mix when shit.lke this happens. There is one common denominator in all of this.

Josh Grant = Jeff Ward Racing (Kawasaki)

Andrew Short = LB/MC (Honda)

Here's what I saw..

Savage was first in line waiting for the 450 Pro moto. He chose the very inside gate 20 minutes before the race even started. Now, Grant comes rolling to the line maybe 5 minutes before the start of the race and lines up even more inside of Savage. Not only does he line up even more inside, but he lines up at an angle facing Savage, like he's going to cut him off right out of the gate. I can see that Savage was a little bummed by the move and finally says something to Grant about it a couple minutes later. He asks Grant " Hey are you going to move?" and Grant says "HA! We'll see!" Words start to get thrown around back and forth and Savage finally grabs Grant's helmet and Grant does it back. They shove a little and Savage pushes Grant all the way off of his bike. He falls on his back and gets back on his bike. Now, I'm thinking Savage is done and Grant is gonna deck him. Grant just gets back on his bike and then calls his dad over to talk with Savages dad who was trying to defend his son. Then they start the race 30 seconds later and they are off. Grant takes Savage wide in the first corner and eventually pulls off a lap later. Savage continues the race.

To me, Savage had the right to the inside. He was there first, 15 minutes before Grant. Grant comes in like he has seniority and blocks Savage. Savage grew a pair in my book. I used to be a big Grant fan, now not so much.
I saw you there dude!! I even got some pics of you when it all went down so I know your first hand account is accurate.

too bad snookie didnt go race day in the dirt. how much better would this thread have been if it had been him getting punked out of his gate pick and subsequently eating shit in the first turn with pics and video to match? hahaha

If that in fact was Savage's dad that pulled Grants bike out from under him on the line he should have been immediately ejected from the facility and/or had his ass kicked. Hard.

All I can say is I would be so fucking embarrassed to be that kid right now. His father is a grade A asshole. Josh didn't really do anything to escalate to that.

You joined the site just to say that? I am guessing your friends with Savage. It's the interweb bro, it's what people do.

you guys are aware that had grant not tried to steal savage's gate pick, that this whole "incident" never would have happened?

im not sure how that gets lost in this debate. but oh well. i feel really stupid for even making this post and halfway taking the "fight" in question seriously enough to weigh in with more than a snookie insult or some other smartass remark.

Like everything else posted so far that as well is pure speculation. It's not like we can see a fence, gate, chalk line or ribbon that marked out the start.

That right there is a perfect example of why a rider with Josh Grant’s talent isn’t a champion. He let an amateur nobody get in his head. By reacting to anything Savage may or may not have done, he was letting him get in his head. Do you think Dungey or Villopoto would have reacted to anything Savage or anyone else could have done on the line? They would have just laughed and then smoked him. It takes two to tango. Both of those guys need to grow up.

x2 Grant always find's himself in some kind of drama never been of a fan of him. Especially after he said the only reason dungey got the championship that year because everyone was out or hurt. Even though RD has kicked his ass alot the last couple of years

Grant could have done what the old school pro's used to do at grab-ass events---let the gate leave first, then chase every one of their asses down. Think about that "thread-line": Grant lets gate take first turn---Still takes win. Instead, there is an open issue as to whether a seasoned and ranked pro tried to pull the status card, resulting in a fracas.

I tell my kids frequently: The "trouble" one finds in life is largely about the choices we make in the spur of the moment and usually under emotional stress. Issues which you have time to reflect upon usually will not cause you trouble---unless you're a dumbass or completely mis-read the situation. No one should be forced to play the "puthy", but one better be justified if physical action is undertaken.

BTW, Grant's old man has always looked like a guy you'd want in YOUR fox-hole. I've also witnessed his devotation to his kid. It doesn't surprise me that he maintained his composure. He knows first-hand the sacrifices that have been made in order for Josh to pursue mx as a profession-----because he personally made many of them.

Hoping Grant issues an apology to his sponsors and fans. Whether he was right or wrong---he owes them an apology as long as he is on the payroll. He's the professional, and it is expected.

How's a high profile professional like Grant even allow himself to get into a scuffle like that at such an irrelevant event....before it even starts!?!?!?!? Letting a no-name like Savage suck you into that sort of thing is a sign of weakness and stupidity in my opinion. And I'm assuming Savage started it. Professionalism is more than just speed and thanking sponsors.
Funny how trouble just seems to find guys with tough personas.

BTW Rupert, love the Seinfeld references.....that's one magic loogie!!!!

I love how drama between Reed, and stewart is awesome.Grant gets in a little spat, he is white trash, and a horrible role model. I am not saying that fighting is a good thing by any means, but if the guy wanted that line so bad, he shouldn't have left room for anyone else to squeeze in.
