same as this year, if not better if he stays healthy.

he wasnt too hot in SX but turned it on for outdoors.

this year is going to be insane as long as no one gets hurt.

Davi will do fine and put in good results and maybe a podium here and there.
People talk like Davi sucks, which is such bullshit
I think he does alright and is a good guy. Took him some time to adjust to the Yamaha this year, but he had some good rides as the year went on. So, who else was there, really? People like to trash Davi, but in 2010 he finished 3rd in the SX series, 8th overall this year after a slow start on a new brand, finished ahead of Brayton, Tedesco, Wey, Alessi, Blose, Regal, Chisholm. ....who beat him? RV, RD, CR, JS, TC, Short and KW....who, out of who was available, can beat any of them and do any better?

I don't think they think he sucks, but it's a matter of what he did as an amateur. As you know, he was pretty much untouchable as an amateur so people expect championships, not just top 10s. It may have a little bit to do with him getting burned out. He's obviously not a "machine" like RD and RV.

Top 10. If he's lucky he'll have a couple top 5's. If he's super lucky he'll have a podium. If he's the luckiest guy on the planet he'll get a win. Definitely one of the better, if not the best, second rider on any team.

I think people feel he has the talent to be as good as the big five on a regular basis. Andrew Short got sixth and Davi is more talented than him imo.

Davi is really talented and never rode to his full potential in many peoples eyes hence his results while very good for most people aren't quite what people feel is the maximum of his potential.

The fact that he has had top three in Supercross and top four outdoors in chamionships shows just how much potential he has.

Saying that, he has had a lot of injuries too... and if it was easy to do what RV, Dungey and Reed do everyone would do. The fact is it takes more than just talent to run up there... and Davi doesn't appear to have all the pieces of the puzzle add in the fact he has had a lot of injuries, it isn't easy.

But he keeps getting rides because he has the talent to be one of those guys imo, and maybe this year he will be one of the main guys.

YOu have the main five guys, but in terms of talent and raw speed, Grant, Windham and Millsaps are as good as those guys... the question is can they ride to that level enough and be mentally strong enough to fight for the title.

The guy is TOUGH, he deserves credit for that. I hope his results improve second year on the bike. He did well on the Yam considering what he'd been through. Look at Reed after Millville. He a was a touch off his pace too. Do we write HIM off now, or give him some time to come storming back?

I wonder if having a new powerhouse teammate will motivate Davi?

Also, not being forced to live far away from your real home could play a roll in Davi becoming more of a consistent top 10 rider.

I would imagine that living in the Joe Gibbs North Carolina Bubble could add a undesirable stress dynamic that might actually back fire and work against the rider? Spending too much time with your employers management team probably wears on the Joe Gibbs team riders over time.

Davi will do good overall if he stays injury-free in 2012. He has the speed, the talent, the skills and he's proven he can be fast with the JGR Yamaha.

He was fine with Brayton under JGR management.

People have gotten tired of the same story every year.

Lost 20 pounds and am good to go followed by
My diet was off.
Dirty supplements.
My settings weren't right.

Davi has a lites title, ran great this year before he hurt his knee and is very talented but you can't constantly blaim the same things every year

No doubt he's gnarly from coming back from the kidney... Refer back to the J-Bone or Coy podcast where they said when Davi twisted his knee and pointed to it every time through the mechanics' area.

Davi is talented, but he he looks for excuses rather than persevering from them.

I do try to be nice but I really believe he can win some races or at least podium. If he stays healthy I think top 5 is very attainable. I am even willing to place a friendly bet. If he doesn't win a race or finish in the top 5 in points I am willing to give you a Rockwell watch up to a $240 value. If he does win a race or finish top 5 in points you buy a watch and donate it to Road to Recovery!

Like it's so crazy to say Davi could win a supercross too right? He's got 3 wins in his career the last one coming in 2010. OMG he sux!! (sarcasm alert)

Is J-Bone stupid for saying the same thing? Or is his IQ less than the "collective IQ based on a curve" of all MX photogs?

Milsaps has the extra something in him it just seems that its hard to get him motivated. There was a SX last year where him and Bubba were jumping a wild rythm and still nailing the inside on the exit corner. Anybody remember this? They showed Davi doing it like 3 times. I remember thinking damn that looked really good. Wish I could remember which one it was. Phoenix maybe?
