I remember watching your dad, Kelly Donaldson, Randall Tartar, Mark Andrews and a few others out their shredding the shit out of the vintage expert classes when I was getting into it back in '92.
Those are some names I haven't heard in a while. My Dad hated racing Mark Andrews, for a vintage rider the guy was kinda dirty and so protest happy. He sure hammered those old bikes until they hammered back. Handlebars broke on the landing of the old ski jump in the middle of Swan on the '78 CR250. He doesn't remember the rest of that day.

Sheesh!

Couldn't you afford a bit more black material for the backdrop?

Not sure I could do it but sometimes something has to go.

My first vintage bike was a cr125 m1/2 great bike that you can rail berms like nothing else
mine had dg head and pipe, semi seethru plastic tank, some aftermarket fork kit, various shocks
other bits and pieces, sold it before i went any further trciking it up.
will drag out a pic one day.

Will be fun putting all that trick stuff on.

It's hard to believe that CR 250 is nine years old now. I should have never sold mine.

Mugen kit WITH PIPE? What Mugen kit WITH PIPE.....Laughing I missed out when those frames were being built, only a handfull were done. Been trying to snag one for a couple years to build a racer with. I do have an old original Team DG frame that Jeff has doing a few repairs on that will be built up as a DG racer like Glover raced. Got a lot of really cool stuff for that one.
The Holley Equipment guys in Japan have a Mugen airbox/pipe combo they offer. Just sayin'

Yeah I have that combo but some guy in TX had an actual NOS complete kit, carb, pipe, piston etc all with the original wrapping. I've seen the head's and jugs before but the pipes were pretty hard to come by.
This one, eh?

EBay NOS Mugen Auction

Better sell that Kawi and maybe the 465 or something else, Joe.

Good thing I bought all those Mugen kits of mine for $500.00 each several years back. Paid $1500.00 for the last kit I bought, decided then the stuff was out of hand. Didn't get any exhausts with mine though so that is one part I would love to snag. I did snatch up a $99.95 buy it now this week for a NOS 1980 CR125 pipe. I didn't even bitch at the seller about the $35.00 shipping fee...Smile

Some people might give you crap for selling your newer bike to do a vintage bike, but IMO, if you like it and it's what you wanna do, more power to ya'! I love seeing the vintage bikes and for the folks than build one up properly, I'm glad you're around to do so...

Not sure yet but thigs like this are what I'm working with. The all steel stock Honda shock weighs in at 4 lbs 10 oz. , the all aluminum CH Racing Omega air shock weighs 1 lb. 14 oz. Not sure if the length will be correct yet (should be easy to alter) but that's 5 1/2 pounds right there.

A couple of years ago I missed out on a frame that was built for a 73 CR250 engine with Maico geometry. It used all the other Honda parts and would have been a great vintage racer. I could have traded a 75 CR125 engine I had for it even. I'm still sick about that along with the Redline XR75 rolling chassis I walked away from at Mid-Ohio.
