I just received word that Dane Leimbach passed away today at 5:30pm. For those of us who were lucky enough to know and work with Dane throughout the years, we'll miss him. He was a true friend and an inspiration to us all! Godspeed buddy!

So sorry to hear this. I never met Dane, interacted with him on the boards and by email, and he was such a knowledgable and generous guy. And a legendary representative of the US at the ISDT back when the event was really and truly the pinnacle of off-road motorcycling internationally.

Recall remarking to him that I has seen him in the ISDT in Pittsfield, Mass in '73 or '74 - he nodded and smiled. He was a

warm and wonderful gentleman that enjoyed motorcycling as much as anyone,. A very sad day indeed.

I've benefitted from his knowledge of all things ignition related the last ten or so years, what a great guy. I've ordered several PVL ignitions over the last couple of weeks and was afraid to ask how he was doing. Truly a sad day for the moto world and most of all for his family. So sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Dane.

Wow, heard he was very sick, but didn't think he was that sick. Godspeed Dane. It was an honor & priveledge to work with you & know you. And thank you for everything you've done for the motorcycling industry.

Dane was one of the most kind, warm caring person anyone could ever meet. I was fortunate enough to spend most of my younger life around Dane and the Penton family. Probably the fastest man ever on a 100cc Penton. Dane has crossed the line for yet another Gold medal. Godspeed, RIP my friend. Say hello to Dad and Teddy for me. Kelly, Your entire family is in our thoughts and prayers in this most difficult of times. Godbless

So sorry to hear about Dane, he was an off-road legend. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. I know he was always cool in my interactions with him and a voice of reason around here, too. R.I.P. Dane!

A few years back, Dane had posted on a local moto board that he was giving away several boxes of old motorcycle magazines to anyone wanting them. I got in touch and drove out to his PVL shop to meet up with him. In addition to being an off road icon, he made a big impression on me as being a super friendly, down to earth, outgoing kinda guy. Rest in peace Dane!

What a sad day. I only new him through here and Pit Racer but I enjoyed his thoughtful input no matter to topic. Sincerest condolences to his friends and family.

I actually spent some time going through his old posts here what a great man.
