People have short memories, pardner. RC had over a minute on Reed in more than one race.

James is the MX vapor champion, so far. We'll see come Steel City. Alessi likes Steel City.

Can you remind me what championships Alessi has, and I'm not talking LL? At least James has managed to win a few in the tiddler class.

Please don't try to tell me that you think James on a 125 could keep pace with Villopoto on a 250f. That's almost laughable

Um,

try 1986.

You really should know wtf you are talking about before you try to come off as an expert.

Don't confuse the debate with your facts. None of your so called facts can stand up in the light of the totally unjustified speculation that is the bread and butter of this board.

Holy Mackeral, there are certainly some unrealistic members on this board. I guess since Ricky Carmichael proved for 2 1/2 years and 4 AMA championships, that he could probably beat James on a 125 2-stroke by riding a RM 80 2-stroke.
So what does RC's record have to do with RV ability? They both have red hair?

You must be a rocket scientist, because that sort of logical leap takes some major thrust.

Please do post some more, I haven't laughed enough today.

James posted faster times on a 125 indoors and outdoors than RC did on the 250 smokers and once he started riding the CRF's. So yes....Stewart would beat RV on a 250F or 125!

Errr, Mikey really likes Glen Helen. Even said it was his home track, one of his favorite tracks, and the track that he had the best chance to beat James at. Didn't happen.

The 250F's were an unfair advantage over the 125 pingers 3 years ago, and since the 250F's have improved, and the 125's haven't (excepting KTM), that does give RV more of a fighting chance against Bubba on a 125 in this theoretical match up.

I'd still give it to Bubba, though maybe not at the last MXDN race, that one belonged to Poto.

if anything Bubba was faster on a KX125 than he is today on a 450... in fact, if he were to ride a 125 at the next national, he'd probably put 2 seconds a lap on MA instead of just 1..... Bubba was simply super human on a tiddler 2 stroke.....

That old James posting faster times aboard a 125 than RC on a 250 is one of the oldest wives tales that's been floating around the internet for years. It seems by some of you guy's logic, the smaller displacement the bike, the faster the lap times, thats why I said Carmichael using that math would beat James on a 125, with an RM 80, since he was a faster rider. You put RC on his 2004 Factory Honda CR 250 and James on his 2004 KX 125 and Ricky will beat Steward 24 moto's in a row easily. Anyways! I might as well go out in the backyard and talk to a tree trunk, because some of you think James can't be beat, but Carmichael did beat him for 2 1/2 years handily and you can't stand the fact that James is only winning now, because the the fastest guy retired on top. And what the hell does Johnny O'mara have to do with any of this, his performance at the MXDN in 1981 was impressive, but still not as impressive as what Villopoto did last year at Budds Creek.

I would love to see that race. And on most tracks I would give the advantage to JS. He was absolutely amazing on the 125. At some tracks he would run lap times comparable to RC, and I think if he needed to he probably could have gone faster! I'm not trying to take anything away from RV, he is on the gas, but I honestly don't think he would have a chance against JS right now, on a 450 or a 125. James is dialed in right now and its going to take something big happening to slow him down. Next year is going to be good to watch for sure.
