I thought about pitching it to the AMA but with their tight tv schedule I don't think they would have time for 4 extra motos.
Here's the thing...

You need to go West of the Rockies and North of the Mason-Dixie...

I think with the right planning sponsors and support it could work.

Couple things I thought about

1. Make sure the purse is enough to attract some decent pros, I am not talking RV or RD but guys that are 20th or back at a pro National and occasionaly you get a guy like Regal or Albertson

2. I think for sure you need to run all classes and types on Saturday to get the riders and revenue

3. For Sunday -

a. make the 125 class open to anyone- so schoolboy riders could go against some pros. I guess instead of cash for the non A riders give them dealer bucks or something. The 250 clas would be pros . expert only

b. I really think you would need to run a open class of some sort that would allow 4 strokes if you want alot of people to stay over. Just a support class , no payout and than maybe a mini open class to .
Yeah the 125 will be open to A,B and schoolboy riders. Would be cool to see how a top schoolboy rider could do against some pros. And yeah I could run 125 and 250 open non pro and maybe super mini and a 50 class on sunday to keep people there for the 2nd day

Yeah I feel like I go pretty good on a 2 smoke. I have a lot of fun riding them. Are you gonna be at any ax tour races this year?
I will most likely be doing all of them.
I'll be at murfreesboro and all the ones after that I'm going to miss the first couple rounds. I'm running some hole in the wall ax races before the ax tour because I haven't ridden since arenacross last year and need to knock the rust off lol

Sounds exciting and doable. Can you share what sponsors you have? Do you already have some venues who've agreed to it?

I hope you succeed and become the premier series in the world. The AMA series rules to not allow 2-strokes equal CCs suck.

Okay so I already posted this on twostrokemotocross.com but I want opinions from both sides. What I'm trying to do is put together a 12 round national 2 stroke series for the pros in 2013. I'm bringing in somebbig name sponsors and were going to put up a good pro purse to attract the riders. The pro's would run 25 minute motos. But it would be a 2 day event with amateurs on Saturday and pro's on Sunday. But to not lose money I would have to allow 4 strokes on Saturday so if you came out and raced Saturday would you come back Sunday to watch the pro's battle it out on 125's and 250's?
Sure,why not!
Sounds like it would be a neat series to follow.

Well for 2012 I'm going to do a 4 race "test" run I'm trying to get a round at freestone and a few other well known tracks. As for the sponsor side of it all that stuff is still in the works but as soon as I know something I will let you guys know.

I really love the idea. I would definitly come just to spectate. I do think in order for people to really take the series serious tho, it will need to be ama sanctioned

I'm hoping to have one at Freestone! I will post on here as soon as I know something.
You should look at Underground MX in Texas. Great track and owner.

Also if you want to look to come to Illinois .. Sunset Ridge MX, they currently host a round of the ATV Pro Nationals and have the set up to handle it

A good close race is a good close race.

Make the program:
Heats
Semi
LCQ

Main events - 2 - 30 min + 2 lap Motos

Look into www.ironcitymx.com as a possible SE race

Why not work with John Perry and the people at Glen Helen? They already put on a great two stroke event. That way you can just incorporate it into your seres as a "West Coast" round?

I wish you well and hope you can see your plans to fruition; not to be negative, but w/ the economy in a rather craptastic state it is in right now, I'd be concerned w/ taking on a plan as big as this. As a fan, I'm really stoked on the idea cause I do miss the two strokes on the racetrack, but I'd hate to see you on your ass financially, you know? If you can make this happen, then I hope that you are really successful and make guys like me take a big bite of crow, but I'd be reluctant to do it at this time if it was my money...

I have actually talked to John amd Tami at Glen Helen at that is something I'm interested in as the series expands. But I'm currently based out of Orlando Florida and would have to travel 2,500 miles so until the series grows and I know I have a full gate I can't afford to take the risk in spending the money to travel all the way there. It is something I'm very interested in doing in the future though!

Why would you "need" to go? They obviously don't need you to help run the race. It be more helpful for you and your planned series than them anyway. I'd figure out something that makes sense marketing wise and stop worrying about the future pot of gold you might have share.

Yeah it could for sure turn bad but like I said I'm putting on a 4 race series this summer to see how it goes. I'm also in the process of bringing in some good sponsors to the series. And if we get the race at freestone it won't actually cost me anything. So on the good side if it does flop I won't be out a ton of money

You want good pro's Make it during the Winter in between SX rounds and close to the end So guy's will show up preparing for the Nationals.

You want some advice talk to Don Snider about his experience with the 4strokenationals, He did pretty good for awhile then the big boy's squashed him along with the AMA and the fact 4 strokes were the Norm not a novelty.

Yeah it will. The race is going to be the same weekend as their area qualifier.
