Sorry DC but the difference there is that he only made it back to 3rd and it was against 125's James was dead last and won not 3rd and it was against 4-strokes . I don't think Ricky had that kind of blinding speed to do that

You can't sit here and compare their eras. Last to first is absolutely amazing, no matter who your competition is. But remember it was Ivan Tedesco leading that moto. In 03, Tedesco was not that good, especially at MX. Stewart may have had the speed, yes. No way he wins that moto with RC there though. Was Stewart ever pressed for 30+2 on a 125? I know Roncada pressed him for about 20 for one or two motos. RC would be better than him on days, and Stewart would be better than RC on days. To say Stewart could keep up with RC for 24 30+2 motos over a course of an entire summer is a bit absurd. RC was 10 for 10 in MX championships. Right now, Stewart is 3 for 6 (7 if you count 03).
I watched a video of Robbie Reynard run down Ricky and pass him like he was standing still I never saw anyone do that Stewart on a 125

unadilla. he completely dominated RC and made him look slow for one magical moto, and RC was not floundering, he just had nothing for reynard for 30 minutes in time.

This is funny. Carmichael was 3-4 seconds a lap faster than the two championship contenders who were pushing each other into warp speed that first moto! Ricky ran out of minutes.

Great race.

I just watched that too, but carmichael picked up the pace and was getting very close, 1 or 2 more laps, and rc would have probably gotten him back. Awesome ride by RR though.

I that another excuse for not winning that the he ran out of time. Man a lot of guys could you use that one. The question here is not that RC isn't a bad ass on a dirt bike but which one is faster on a 125 2 stroke and think James was a faster rider on that bike.Yes Ricky won his championships but who owns the record for most wins in that class besides Ricky having to drop back just to get that title off James. Don't forget James had to race 250'fs on that 125 for his race wins.

RC ruined Stewart on a 250, then the 450... what in the world makes you think he wouldn't have done the same on a 125? RC couldn't come through the pack on a 125? Unadilla, '99, crashed first turn and came back to win... Stewart's competition was on 4 strokes? Have you ridden the '04 250f? Stewart is bad ass, but stop with this RC beatin nonsense...

Roncada was on a 250f when he pressured Stewart at Vegas and Hangtown.

When Ricky ran half a season on 450's and still finished higher in the points than stewart, i would say thats ruined.

So, the year Stewart beat RC in multiple motos and gave away 16 points over ten motos in the races they actually were in together equals "ruined?"

Yeah pretty much. He got beat by someone who was halfway retired and ran more races than ricky and still finished behind him. Not to mention the fact that james never beat Ricky for a championship.EVER.

Did he race another full season? No! Halfway retired, like i said. Besides what else did he have to prove? He dethroned mcgrath and destroyed the outdoors.

Stewart ran one more moto than RC that year and finished a point behind him.

I don't think anyone compares to RC, but Stewart was as close as anyone came and 2006-2007 was some of the best racing by two of the sports greats, and only someone with an asshole disrespect for Stewart would translate that to him getting "ruined."

Ok stewart is amazing but he is not driven he has no motivation. Plain and simple. Watch his stupid show and youll see. Even his little brother malcom has more motivation to win. So let me rephrase Stewart ruined himself.

no disrespect to Stewart... but getting 'ruined' means that he had very little success against RC. Sure they had some close races, but the record books don't count margins of victory, my man. RC is 4 for 4 in championships that Stewart competed in, I think... Maybe if it was 3 to 1, or 2 to 2, 'ruined' would be the wrong term. If that's asshole disrespect, I guess I'm an asshole, but I'm just callin it like I see it.

You mean the year Stewart broke his arm in practice at the second round at Phoenix, after the mudder Windham won in Anaheim, and RC didn't win another main after Stewart returned and split the remaining wins with Reed?

oh no.... I'm arguing with a stat geek... Last I saw RCs name was listed as 2005 champion. Get over it man...being from Sac, you probably think the Kings had a 'rivalry' with the Lakers, too, don't you? Find all of us the championship that Stewart won over Carmichael, and I'll shut up. Shoot, you're probably gonna come at us with the 2006 World SX championship, aren't ya?

RC beat Stewart for championships. The jackasses try to put Stewart down on the basis of Carmichael's accoomplishments in terms of RC "destroying" or "ruining" Stewart are more interested in putting Stewart down than celebrating RC or dealing with the fact of how good Stewart is and was, and that he's the only guy who really gave RC a run in his prime. And that's a disgrace.

But for a couple of Windham one-offs with a 450, Stewart was the only threat to RC outdoors, and that produced some epic races in 2006 and 2007. No one else was ever even close. We should be thankful for that, not shitting on the guy. If RC ruined Stewart, then I guess he butt raped and gutted every other rider who busted his ass to put on a show. What a shitty way to look at the sport.
