Lenny put the crack pipe down. Put on a pair of skates over at the Health South Center where the Kings let the Lakers practice and try skating. Get the Hockey skates not the Blades of Glory. Then when you have done about 5 fast laps around the rink, get a custodian to come over and clean up after you have blown chunks.

I don't know about that but we went to Moscow when my son played on a team that went there. We got to watch a scrimmage between Dynamo(KGB team)/Red Army(Pro teams). It was at the Dynamo practice facility. Between periods, we could see in the locker rooms. Those guys smoke like a forrest fire. They also drink a tea that is like crack. I am not sure if anything else was used but I could not stay around because of the smoke. My sons team was playing the Soviet Wings 14yr old team the second game. The Russian trainers came over and gave the kids what their kids were getting. Orange slices and that tea. An Orange in Russia in Dec/Jan is like gold. The tea had the boys so wound up they were up into the middle of the night.

It's useless trying to explain hockey to people that never played it.

It's easily the greatest/ most difficult team sport - the one that takes the most skill, fitness, and toughness to play.

it's not like basketball where any jerkoff can go out and play - maybe not good, but still.

It takes years to learn to play hockey. In that regard it's kind of like MX - and if you think MX is a tough sport you haven't played hockey. Wink

I played tavern league hockey for a few years. It is way tougher than MX.

The way some people can relate to it is, every shift is like running a 400m race. Do that how many shifts/game, if you are on the 1st or 2nd lines?

FCR - Good analogy.

With the ice time the top guys get that would give them less than a 90 second rest before they went out and did it again. Now try that after getting the wind knocked out you by a big hit as you limp your way back to the bench.

Congrats to Detroit.

Those last 16 wins are always the toughest and sweetest in the game.

.... who couldn't love a game where participants regularly get stitched up and return to the game barely missing a shift. Those crooked nosed, scarred up, toothless warriors deserve big props.

I understand why people who never played dont like it. I never cared for hockey until I started playing. Its a very fun way to get exercise. Its also one of those sports thats much better veiwed in person than on TV. Unlike football, its better on TV. I'm lazy, if I'm not playing a sport I wont execise. It works for me. Hockey for my legs and core, Surfing for my arms and shoulders.

I used to love that Nike /Fleury commercial when he would look up and smile and he is missing a pucks width of teeth on his Maxilla. that guy was amazing. Had some big demons though.

I was so depressed today. Sad

The very LAST second Hossa's shot bounced behind Osgood and through the crease! Oh man, that was SO CLOSE!

ANYWAY,

Did anyone really doubt the Wings? Huck, you were getting nervous eh? They fucking pwned those kids. I thought they might take it easy in Pitt and let a game 7 come home and do it right, but they obviously didn't want to push it.. Maybe next year Scotty, but I wouldn't bet on it..haha
