I swear it happened just after MXdN.
I've been following this forum for several years and only joined a couple years ago. This place used to be pretty cool! People could have an opinion, people put thought into their post's and sure enough BobbyM and BigLenny put their $.02 into just about every post to keep things light hearted and enjoyable. Nowadays we have people under their 3rd, 4th or 5th screen name spewing the same lame crap, de-railing threads, insulting others, and frankly, ruining the Forum. Any single thread gets de-railed after about the 10th post and turns into a big steaming pile!
The personal attacks on the journalist's (GuyB, Matthes, Ping, Jody, DC) are LAME! I'm not defending those guys and I have no horse in this race, but give these guys a break! It's contract time, the big guys (Stewart, Reed, Dungy, RV, etc.) have their own private test facilities, they are under contract with other employers and are not allowed to divulge info as to where they are going. The same Journalist's give us good bits of info that they can talk about but all these new guys here want it all now and want the media to loose their job over an inside scoop. That would be like getting your friend fired from a job because you told his boss he was looking at other employers. People on this site think that the journalist's should be doing that??!!
The things I used to enjoy here are gone...BobbyM walks a tight rope because people can't take a joke, lots of good members are gone for the same reason, and now we have journalist's attacking journalist's (Dandunes vs. Nerd, Matthes vs. Jody, Ping vs. everyone)!
My suggestion is to cut some of the people that constantly de-rail threads, clean up the dumb threads, teach the newb's how to have an intellegent, 2-way, conversation, show the moderators and industry folks some respect and please give tblazier his own forum to post pictures and video into! I think if half of these things were accomplished the forum would improve 100%.

That's part of the problem. Start a new thread so it can grow or be trashed... instead or hijacking an existing thread
just pot stirs,sitting on the couch watching their post count raise to fuel their next mission.
Every year in the mainstream sports they have free agents, mx is no different. Yet in the NFL,MLB, and the NBA we get stories everyday about who is rumored to go where. In mx we get rumors from a message board, the big websites don't really do much to break the stories, they just wait till they are called. It's tough to play both sides. There is a reason why TFS and Rupert are no longer a mainstay on the message boards.
MX is what it is, it will never be mainstream and it's unfair for the fans to think they will get any major news unless the proper channels say it's ok.
We all knew Dungey was rumored to go to KTM at the start of the season, plenty of people knew, yet how many found out it was true by going to one of the few message boards? That kind of story should be on mx websites, not message boards.
It's a small, very small industry and if you want to stay in it, you better know how to play the game.
Everyone has an opinion, just cause you agree with one opinion doesn't make it right. If you disagree with an opinion doesn't make that person wrong.
I have said alot of ..well not so nice of things about DC. I have talked to him and apologized. I think if I would of come at him a different way, it would of been handled better. You learn and move on. We are not all going to agree, but we can disagree without the childish name calling and personal attacks. Hard to tell how someone means something on a message board unless you know the persons personality.
This is no way an insult to Matthes, I think he is doing a great job given his limitations within the sport.
I just wish people would understand that they can't get everything they want instantly and insulting the reporters gets you nowhere, hence the decline of Vital.

Granted BobbyM takes it to another level, but you should know it's harmless and has been SOP for him since day 1.
A bit of this sanctimonious attitude and a bit of the pot stirring attitude that's a little too persistent is the problem. There was a certain perfect anarchy at the old Fresh Dirt that for better and worse is missing in the last year or so.
