Practice at Pala on Saturday- one of my best days riding for a while.

Dirt was awesome , weather was perfect - life doesn't get any better than turning dirt circles with your buddies.

Is it really that bad? that you only get to do 3-4 lap moto's?

It is the same way in Colorado. There are so many different classes (25 or so) that it makes for a long day with just the 3-4 laps. Definitely not a good time investment.
That's why Hare Scrambles are so much fun. Show up, ride for 2 hours, pack up and get home before 3.
Speaking of HS, the next one at Berthoud is this coming Sunday.

We have done about 20 races for the year so far. My son races schoolboy 2 and 250 c in D-13. I race 40+ am.

The best days are when I can go to a practice track and ride a few hours and go home. Racing is an all-day (or night) deal.. plus the entry fees, class fees, hotel, food, ect.

That and I am not getting any younger. Not worth getting carted away on a stretcher for a particleboard plaque or cheap plastic trophy. I treasure the ones I have but I'm not interested in getting more.
dude, i agree 100%%

i wish there were more open practice tracks closer to CNJ then etown...racing is fun but im the kind of guy who wants to ride until im TIRED.

I have no problem spending $40 to ride a track for a day as long as i go home SORE and TIRED! thats how i know i got my moneys worth

..you know that feeling..knees are NUMB, hands are numb, face is covered in dirt...you've cleared every jump on the track and you're just ON IT all day...

i guess im just a professional practice rider lol.

Raced for the first time in two years on Sunday actually. It was fun. I prefer practice days but it is still fun to get out and mix up with the new kids coming up in the local pro classes once in a while.

I am glad you had a great day with your son. But you title is a little off base. I haven't raced since 1984, and I had to quit because I couldn't afford for two people in the family racing each and every weekend. With that said, you would have to attend a whole lot of races to catch up with the weekends that I have attended.

Not a personal jab, but your title of this thread is way off.

Speaking of cool stories, we have an up and coming rider in the area (he beat mitch dougherty this weekend ) that was play riding around the track and hucked out a 60' table on a crf 80 with ease! It was incredible
You have 80 rider riding in the expert class and winning, that is pretty incredible.

As far as 60 foot tabletops on 85's that's been the norm for about 15 years.
